Anyway if you like the Tombraider reboot you'll enjoy FC3 as well.

I own plenty of first person games but I'm just not a fan of that perspective. I've bought great games in spite of my bias and really enjoyed them but most of the time, it's just a deterrent. I think I'll give FC a try after I finish Alien Isolation, though. You've sold me.

I didn't even realize they're in different perspectives doh. I usually tune out the character in front of me in tps games. It only 'bothers' me in certain climbing / hanging sections when it's not obvious how 2d stick movement translates to 3D movement in tps. Ofcourse you're spared those sections in fps. Fps makes stealth a bit more challenging, can't simply look around with the camera while hiding. I guess that's why fc3 lets you tag the enemies, not really needed in U4.

Have fun with Alien Isolation, another gem.

Tomb Raider as a series in general is better than Uncharted as a series

However I did enjoy Uncharted 4 more tahn ROTR.

I think this is because with the new entries, Tomb Raider has kinda forgotten what its supposed to be, about Tomb Raider, exploration, etc, something Uncharted 4 has nailed imo

I'm confused by this post. RotTR has a lot of exploration and side stuff to do.

Uncharted 4 is a linear game with some open areas and not much else to do other than move forward.

Also, the combat in Uncharted 4 feels shallow having completed RotTR first. Waiting in grass trying to get a kill is a lot more fun when I have a stealth options like a bow.

I haven't played RoTR yet, or UC4 for that matter, but of the first 3 Uncharted games and the recent Tomb Raider reboot, I'd rank them:

Uncharted 2 > Tomb Raider 2013 > Uncharted 3 > Uncharted 1

I prefer Lara to Drake, and TR had more to do besides shooting baddies and moving ahead, but UC generally has better setpieces.

I think he meant it in the context of the story Uncharted being like Indiana Jones movie and Tomb Raider having an identity crisis.

About the linearity... In TR 2013 it feels like the game is full of different large rooms with small linear paths connecting each of them, it's not that open world as you think, but the ability to revisit these places and leaving the story behind to come back and explore gives it the illusion of open world, but aside from the optional tombs there isn't anything relevant to do, now Shadow of Mordor is an actual open non-linear game, TR is a wannabe.

And about the combat...For sure you can't use bow in Uncharted but on the other hand you can't loot weapons from enemies, shoot while hanging from a ledge, do assisted melee takedowns, fire from the hip, blind fire from cover, do silent drop takedowns, shoot while hanging from a rope etc. in TR. So claiming that Uncharted has shallow combat means that you just can't take advantage of it's vast opportunities.

IF ROTTR is the same in terms of combat and map design as it's predecessor I have no idea what you're talking about in your post, BUT if it does actually make significant changes in these areas I'll totally understand your opinion.

The first original two TR games offered new fresh experiences. It was groundbreaking to me. I went "WOW" so many times playing them. The games had many flaws of course and haven't aged well obviously.

The reboot felt like Uncharted plus other ideas. QTE fests, killing waves of enemy, horrible platforming, hand-holding cues everywhere, a mediocre story. I am not fond of those, I understand others are.

If I was the one in charge of the reboot, I would've borrowed elements from different games, including the 2nd Prince of Persia tight platforming.

even as a ps4 owner im not a big fan of unchartd soooo tr

This post is a mess, but I'll give you the benefit of the doubt. If you can provide a source showing the game being completed in under 6hrs, I'll spare any moderation. If not, I advise you not to make such claims.

There's a trophy for beating the game in under 6 hours ...

You'd have to rush like hell though so it's not a trophy I'm likely to get. The average is 17 hours. The shortest is 4 hours and 46 minutes:

The PS5 Exists.

Uncharted 4 is a good game but not amazing. I would give it an 8.2/10. But having played TR 2013 its not that much better. Its a 8.4/10. So it could go either way.

Started Uncharted 4 yesterday, so hopefully I can give my verdict later today.

I have a feeling it's going to be a lot closer than I anticipated.
