I can't completely dismiss this simply because Sony are clearly also offering a similar service with PSNow. To evaluate whether this is viable or not we need to forget what the gamer wants and think only of what benefits the company the most. Cutting the need for R&D, design and manufacturing, and opening it up to anyone with a decent broadband is an attractive proposition for any company.

That's pretty much the most unbelievable rumor so far.

Nintendo won't make their next console a streaming service. They have to yet implement a lot of elements for their regular online, how on Earth are they going to jump to full streaming?

Unless the NX really isn't meant as a Wii U replacement, this probably isn't true. You wouldn't want to alienate people with bad internet.

I use my consoles mostly at my work (army base) and the internet is around 100Kb/s so any streaming console is 1000000000000% no buy

Streaming games is dead for me and it will stay dead for me until the end of humanity.
I doubt any truth in this rumor. Others tried to establish a streaming game service and failed miserably. Don't think that Nintendo will try to set a foot in something so unstable, when the hardware sells of their current home console are so low.

So he's a leaker who says he might actually be wrong, which means he has no facts at all, thus not a leaker, therefore nothing but idle speculation.

Streaming is the future direction of mainstream gaming IMO, so it will be interesting if Nintendo goes that route first. I think it's a bit too soon to go all in, but one of the big 3 has to.

So pretty much a Nintendo Now, but the Playstation Now is (still at least) an additional service, not a main one. A streaming service as a main offer would likely fail (even the thought of a permanent connexion severely wounded the One), so it would be a bad idea.

But honestly, I can't understand Nintendo's decisions since the Wii, so I wouldn't even be surprised if it's true.

So a rumour that Nintendo is going to go from being Sub X360 in terms of Online service to beyond what Onlive managed to do with Streaming games and a whole system via the Net? Yeah, No.

If this is true NX will be dead on arrival for sure. I won't buy this.
