Forums - Sony Discussion - Uncharted 4 Angry Joe Review

Also, watching this review after playing 4 Zeldas really hammers home how overly broad the Action Adventure is. We really need a new genre for Zelda style and open world action adventure games, like what we have with Metroidvania.

Only goes to show that if you dress up your scripted corridors pretty enough people will love you.

Can't watch because he spoils the fuck out of everything he reviews but I will watch soon. I'm almost done with the game.

What's your opinion on it so far ? in short :)

I'm on chapter 17 and the game is fucking incredible. Just keeps getting better.

I actually watched a Twitch play of chapter 18 and it didn't look that great. I quit before I saw any spoilers, though. Playing it from beginning to end, the game has surpassed even my greatest expectations . I'm excited to see how it all ends!

He does says it deserves "the highest 9/10" he ever gave, he keeping calling the game a technical and adventure masterpiece but apparently he just couldn't score it a 10/10 because he thinks it has some flaws, but he makes very clear that only takes it from taking the perfect mark he rarely gives, but he calls it the best PS4 game, a must have game that's on par with Halo for the original XBOX as far as being more than enough reason to pick a PS4 just for it, being a true system seller, and he further praises ND for the streak of highest quality games and says he just can't wait to see what they'll deliver with their next game.

Oh, he also says he haven't see anything like that on any other console, or even PC.
He is a big PC gamer enthusiast, btw.

I wonder what he doesn't play these days because I'm honestly seeing things differently from him.

Step right up come on in, feel the buzz in your veins, I'm like an chemical electrical right into your brain and I'm the one who killed the Radio, soon you'll all see

So pay up motherfuckers you belong to "V"

So today, Joe is a credible reviewer. But what of tomorrow? Will he piddle all over a fan-favorite? Or confess he's not a fan of some sacred cow and cause such drama as we haven't seen since GameSpot's infamous 9/10 for GTAV? Tune in next time to find out! :P

OK, but seriously, awesome to see Uncharted 4 getting so much praise. And also really happy he came up with this shorter review format. I love his detail-oriented reviews and frank tone and I love that now we get more.

I want to like him more but wow. He has the ability to take a flaw in one game and make it seem like the worst thing in the world. Then overlook the exact same thing in another game!

For example, in Quantum Break , he complained about the character being able to climb certain things at one time but not another. I'm sure he totally ignores this in the U4 review. It's like he put a hit on that game when it was really quite well done.

Well, I trust Joe's opinion on what he thinks of games to be authentic, but he's not objective. He explicitly says his reviews are based on how he feels playing - an ingredient that bugs him during one title may not bug him in the next, due to the overall product. (And to be fair, he was annoyed with how a variety of abilities you have in QB didn't work in places, not just climbing.)

Thank you for the summary! Didn't watch the video but I think I will watch it later. :)

And here I thought The Order was anything but critically acclaimed. Silly me!

A wisecracking American also helps.

Crazy seeing what this game have become since U 1 launched in 2008 to lacklustre reception. After all of that now to be hailed as possibly the best damn adventure game ever made.
So glad to have been with the series since 08, never missed one game.

Uncharted released 2007, though.

08 is stuck in my head, but thats correct. im thinking of my reply after trophies patch
