and the game is a microtransations fest only multiplayer.

These companies are getting so fucking greedy, sadly people keeps eating it so it will never stop and will get worse.

No it's not. The microtransaction section is identical to GTA V's. If you don't want to waste your time unlocking. You buy the lootboxes. You want to get the unlocks. You play the game like normal. Unlocks are fine. Because you can get stuff by random. But also curency. So even if you never get a rare skin. You can save up random game money, to get them too. It's fair. They're just capitizing on people who are lazy. And want all the unlocks right now. They even improved the rate, compared to the beta. I had a hard time getting stuff, in the beta. I'd rather pay $60, and never have to pay for monthly fees. Yeah, i'd love a campaign. The characters are that nice. But I'm happy with the game, as is.

It is $40 for the standard edition. I do not think that that is too much. But I definitely wouldn't buy the $60 edition.

I'm taken aback too. Only a few reviews are in but they're positively glowing. It's strange to me, as Evolve and Titanfall earned a fair share of detractors. Maybe things will changes as more reviews come in?

Splatoon too had it's detractors for lack of content.

The Blizzard name must just be that powerful...

Blizzard did earn that reputation though. Even with Diablo III which was a mess at launch and frankly quite boring once you got to the end game in the first few months, Blizzard supported it and brought it back to a fantastic game just as addictive as Diablo II.

Overwatch is not my kind of game but don't have any doubt that all the standard polish and support Blizzard usually provides for their games is present here too and that kind of quality doesn't justify the $60 asking price.

Signature goes here!

But I heard it's much much awesome. So expect lots of sold copies... and more overpriced games!

Seconded. It runs on my old crappy laptop. For reference, my graphics card is the integrated (came with the laptop) Intel 4000 graphics card. The only thing I paid extra for is a mouse

Thing is. Friends and trophies are on PS4, unless the game is cross play which I doubt. The majority of players are gonna be on console.

Pretty sure most Blizzard games do better on PC.

StarCraft > StarCraft 64.
Diablo > Diablo PS1.
Diablo 3 > Diablo 3 all consoles combined.

Should be interesting to see the sales of this game.. Especially as this being a game that tends to do well with the MMO/MOBA PC crowd.

There is also no cross-platform play as Blizzard was concerned the "dirty mousers" might have an advantage, which... They aren't wrong, PC will require different balancing to consoles because of the mouse.

Overpriced with barely any content, even as a MP only title, and it's raking in the best reviews we've seen in years. Guess I'm just way out of touch with videogames. Was bound to happen eventually.

People need to stop associating content with a fucking campaign. Just because there isn't a campaign doesn't mean there isn't content. This game has loads of maps, modes, characters, and character customizations. There will be (free?) dlc which will add even more. What am I missing here?

I bet the Wii U would sell more than 15M LTD by the end of 2015. He bet it would sell less. I lost.

Has nothing to do with the Blizzard name. This is one of the most fun and fresh shooters we've seen in years. Just because this site can't see it doesn't mean that the whole rest of the world doesn't find it fun. In general, this site is filled with a bunch of loners (no offense) who enjoy playing singleplayer games (which is fine). That's why most multiplayer focused games get shat on by the users here.

To most people, $40 dollars was an incredibly fair price.

I would not pay for OverWatch. While the game is quite good, it was not too much for me to write about. If anything, I am finding myself enjoying the footage I have seen from BattleBorn though.

You really don't need a high end PC for this game. It surely runs even on PCs from 2009 or something

2009? Like I said I had zero issues playing this using a Core 2 Quad 2.4ghz not overclocked.

Core 2 Quad Q6600
  • SL9UM (B3)
  • SLACR (G0)
2.4 GHz 2 × 4 MB 1066 MT/s 0.8500–1.500 V
  • 105 W
  • 95 W
LGA 775 January 2007
  • HH80562PH0568M
  • BX80562Q6600
  • BXC80562Q6600
$530

Wiki says this plays fine on a PC with a heart from Jan 2007, along with a GTX 550Ti (sure this graphic card is from 2011, but still... this game most certainly does not require a "high end" gaming PC)
