I really, REALY want Overwatch, but I'm not sure if I wanna pay $60 for a team based shooter.

I am a huge fan of games like TF2 and Splatoon, but I dunno, as fun as Overwatch is, I just don't want to pay so much for that type of game.

"Just for comparison Uncharted 4 was 20x bigger than Splatoon 2. This shows the huge difference between Sony's first-party games and Nintendo's first-party games."

Only $51 here($51.26 to be exact), but not interested in it(yet).

Nintendo Switch FC: SW-6340-7643-4233 aka Renji

Steam: Lee Roid

Bored of it already :/

Price is what you pay, value is what you get. None of the games in the OP you mentioned interest me to spend combined $60 for all three. It's all relative.

I was actually happy when they announced it wasn't F2P. Another Blizzard game by the name of Heroes of the Storm is F2P and new heroes and skins cost a fortune in it, if you were to buy all of the heroes and skins in Heroes of the Storm you'd pay hundreds of dollars. Whereas with Overwatch you pay $60 and get access to all DLC (including heroes, maps, game modes, and skins/voice lines/sprays/poses/etc.) for free.

As for your claim that it's a microtranaction fest, that's simply not true. Yes, it has microtranactions, but it's only for cosmetic items, and you get 1 of those loot boxes every time you level, and you level pretty quickly, so most people will never feel compelled to actually buy the loot boxes.

Great point. I was happy when it was not free to play either. If you like a f2p game, you tend to end up spending much more than the rather measly 60 bucks. No need to gring for ingame gold or spend $10-$20 for a new character bundle in games like Heroes of the Storm.

Personally, i'd say all the companies can add cosmetic stuff behind microtranstions if it means all the maps, characters, dlc is free. That is huge step in not breaking the multiplayer community apart.

Wait for a lower price and updated content, then.

Personally waiting a bit to get it, I might get it after the summer but likeFinal fantasy XV and if persona V comes out near that time it might be more like holidays.. Then everyone will be good though :(

I was thinking on buying it, but I'm not sure it's worth 60$ when I can play TF2 for free... I mean, it looks fun, but not different or special enough to make me buy it over other cheaper options.

I have played many single player games and I can almost guarantee I'll be spending 20 times more time in Overwatch than those games. Depending on if you're interested in MP shooters, many will easily get hundreds of hours of enjoyment out of this game.

A game shouldn't require a campaign, co-op and MP to be sold at a AAA price tag. As long as it's fun enough to provide many hours of entertainment that justifies the price tag, it deserves that price tag. And Overwatch for me is easily one of those games that is worth its asking price.  The perception of value differs from person to person.

As a side note even though there are microtransactions for cosmetics in the game, all future heroes and maps will be free for everyone, which to me is a good model to have.

I love League of Legends, doesn't mean I spent a dime on it. Feels almost criminal how much time (3+ years) I have spent on the game and not spent any money.  It is true that other F2p games often do it badly.
