Force the middle east to deal with the problem. They're the ones who caused this mess, and now they should fix it! It isn't the west's responsibility to clean the world up!

no, it's the US and it's "coalition of the willing" that caused this mess and they offer no solution at all - just more bombs

its already solved thanks to the balkan countries

Ironically, the countries who have complained about the Iron Curtain have built one themselves.

Can you, for once, not utter that bullshit again? We all know the NATO countries do have responsability for the situation in the middle east. I'm willing to drag this out again.

I actually agree with him to a degree. This is also the Middle East's responsibility, especially when Saudi Arabia, for instance, is closer for the Syrian refugees. Not only that, but it is economically more effective than letting 'refugees' in willy-nilly.

False equivalence fallacy

I know for sure this situation isn't entirely the Middle East's fault(or the West's). To claim all responsibility on one group of people is not only irrational, but a naive statement as well.

12/22/2016- Made a bet with Ganoncrotch that the first 6 months of 2017 will be worse than 2016. A poll will be made to determine the winner. Loser has to take a picture of them imitating their profile picture.

Oh please. If you don't know how much Saudi-Arabia is involved in causing the crisis (with our weapons)... they sure aren't willing to solve it. It's easy to flee from responsability, it's harder to take it. Building walls and shouting populist rethoric is easy when you don't come from a warzone.

And secondly. Is there a big iron fence? Yes, even multiple. I don't see how that can be a false comparison.

Ah, so give other countries a free pass. That's definitely a great idea... Everyone is responsible, especially with Saudi Arabia's Wahabbism.

And let's look at what the Iron Curtain is:

"The Iron Curtain formed the imaginary boundary dividing Europe into two separate areas from the end of World War II in 1945 until the end of the Cold War in 1991. The term symbolized efforts by the Soviet Union to block itself and its satellite states from open contact with the West and non-Soviet-controlled areas."

Yeah... false equivalence. The fact you did not put in the effort to research the background means you're more into spouting buzzwords than providing actual arguments. Let me guess, you're planning on using the word 'Nazi' next?

Oh its my pleasure! You give me one good reason Saudi Arabia and Iran should not take in a single refugee! I'll be waiting...

Made a bet with LipeJJ and HylianYoshi that the XB1 will reach 30 million before Wii U reaches 15 million. Loser has to get avatar picked by winner for 6 months (or if I lose, either 6 months avatar control for both Lipe and Hylian, or my patrick avatar comes back forever).

Why? Europe has also contributed more than enough to people who're little more than economic migrants. Sorry, but 1.5 milion is more than enough.

So the terrorist and special interest groups funded by iran and saudi arabia have nothing to do with it at all? Did America start the Arab spring (which is the result of much of the conflict right now)? Did America start the civil war in Syria? Is America too blame for the bombings and attacks in cities all over the middle east? No one is saying its not partially America's fault, but they haven't bothered helping, so why should Europe deal with what they started?

The solution is a fundamental transformation of the world's socio-economic and political systems. But it's going to take a crisis of much greater proportions than the 2007/8 GFC and this current refugee problem to catalyse such a transformation.

Perhaps when half of Florida is underwater from sea level rise some of the more rich and powerful nations might start to think things need to change.
