You are too pessimist for your own good, you know that right?

FF XV hasnt even released and you already say it will suck.Dont get me wrong, I also got pissed when they did a 180 degress with the gameplay(I guess thats where you get the hate from), but that dosent mean, actually it dosent even indicate, that the game will be bad.Wait for the actual game to release first, then bash it all you want.

But yeah, for the next FF, hope they go back to turn based battles(without going completely old school of course) and  FOR THE LOVE OF GOD go for a medieval setting.Im sick of having a modern FF for the last 10 years.

I knew it would suck as soon as I saw the cast. Theey can fuck off with their sausage fest. Almost every FF so far allowed me to build an all female party and now I'm stuck with a bunch of prettyboys? Fuck that. I don't care about the action combat. It probably would be fun if it wasn't such a bro fest. The fact that it will run like shit on PS4 is just the cherry on top which makes it even easier for me to just wait for the PC version.

There is no doubt in my mind that I will not enjoy this game. I wouldn't even have a second look at it if it hadn't the name Final Fantasy attached to it. All that's left is to find out if it will be even more boring and awful than FFVI.

You think it will be bad because of the male protagonists? LOL

I mean, I know there are tastes for everything and all, but hating on a game and dooming it just because of the gender of a charachter that you dont even know.... its hilarious, to say the least. We all complain when companies such as activision rehash over and over again its games, but when someone tries to do something different, like trying to have a different narrative with an all male party(which isnt even true, since you can have guests and some of those guests are - surprise surprise - females), there are people like you that will claim that it will suck based on that alone. And goes on to say that would be ok with an all female party?I know the internet is a messy place, but I really dont understand it sometimes.

And it wont run shit. LOL

First because after all Square been through, I highly doubt that they would make such an fundamental mistake like that.Second, that demo was rushed, and that was admited by Square itself.the demo was a glorified technical demo, that was there just to show what the game was capable of.

And be my guests and wait years until you get your PC version. You do what you want. But I need to thank you.It brigthens my day seeing senseless posts like this now and then.

My (locked) thread about how difficulty should be a decision for the developers, not the gamers.

"If that view of Final Fantasy isn’t fulfilled, then they’re convinced that it’s bad for Final Fantasy."

Sums up exactly what happens in almost every FF related topic. This thread included.

In a general sense, I really appreciate the flexible nature of FF. It makes it what it is.

It has been the mismanagement of resources. Final Fantasy XII could have been the best period but with few choice decisions CoughVaanCough, it became an amazing setting and theme but poorly executed cast (with that said, this is what Final Fantasy is, the setting and theme with a decent cast). The decent cast is necessary, and for some reason square does not seem to be able to write decent characters anymore.

Final Fantasy XIII, I really don't know how this one could have been saved, poor setting, poor theme, and poorer cast.

Now with Final Fantasy XV, I actually prefered the original idea, but I will give them benefit this time around. How ever the cast is really not looking great, while the setting looks amazing, and I don't know about the theme just yet.

Trust me, if it was an all female cast I would be all over it hyping it as the best FF ever. And yeah, that's my taste. I know that there are people out there who love to stare for 50h at a scrawny boy's ass and fangirling all over the bromance but that is not me. Change for change's sake is the worst thing that you can do.

For me it will be the worst FF ever unless they can pull at least one or 2 proper characters out of their ass. The 2 introduced female characters so far seem dull as shit. I have some hope for the female villain but she won't have enough screen time to carry the game.

I'm fairly optimistic that I will not have to wait longer than a year for a PC port. All major SE releases in the past years ran like shit. LR:FFXIII, Drakengard 3, FF Type Zero, Dragon Quest Heroes. That shows that SE simply does not give a shit about performance. There is absolutely no indication why FFXV would be any different, especially after the beta and demo.

If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.

Tabata is out of touch with most of the fans. I don't like him one bit for changing the story, and gameplay of FFXV (FFvXIII), and I'll never forgive him for removing Stella.

On the otherhand, FFXIV is doing great. Profits are up, everything is good. It saved the company.

Only Nomura can save the single player franchise now. I have high hopes for FF7R, I'm confident it'll be a smashing success.

100% agree with him, this is true for so many japanese franchises and their fanbases. Yet the same fanbase buys call of duty, gta every year and all the western games with the same gameplay mechanics they dissagree in japanese games.

"modernise". I don't see whats modernised about holding the button to attack, but ok. Maybe he shouldn't make assumptions before he sees the result.

Going back to the roots and modernising them is exactly what they should've done. Not trying to copy western games.

Can't they look at why Persona became so popular?

Yes this is how you play most western rpgs, and XCX. Where were you bashing this game by the way if you think its so bad?

You didnt also played the previous demo which is a lot harder

Ruler, but lot of the fans do not want the westernization of these franchises in the east, but that keeps happening. I want to buy final fantasy that is as good as last great final fantasies in gameplay mechanics (Honestly FF12, had pretty decent system, as much as gambit system sometimes plays itself if you become to high leveled).

Yup because that's all you do is hold one button.

Pretty much. If you want to be difficult then yeah... you got 2 dodge buttons and a change weapon button. Alas 90% of the time is spent holding the button down, so i don't know what youre getting touchy about. The truth is the truth.

Don't forget running, warping, changing equipment, using about 2 or 3 different kinds of party abilities for each party member, measuring the distance to use magic so you get the most out of your attack while also not hurting your allies, driving the car, riding chocobos and summoning powerful demi gods.

But as for this topic...

This is the greatest damage control I have ever seen. EDIT: By greatest, I mean most well thought out to swerve us or convince us that it's all that difficult to determine what a FF game should be.  It's not difficult to see what a FF game should be if we go by the most critically acclaimed and most well like ones: FF6-10 or FF4-10 if you prefer.  Most of the differences are aesthetic and they all have very similar core essence's even in their differences.  If you include a Nobou Uematsu level soundtrack, static camera angles, a turn based battle system, a unique story and a wide cast of characters you will get your prime FF game.  It just needs better writers and someone in charge with Sakaguchi's mindset.  Hiroyuki Itou would know what to do as the man is a genius in both game design and story telling.   So in short, get Hiroyuki Itou back.  Nobou probably won't come back in full force, but we at least have a lot to choose from for sountracks.
