Nope. I like their original names. In the series they always say their species name all the time. It just doesn't help my imersion to call pikachu, derpy or spots or electricrat. Just doesn't work for me. But i know alot of people do it.

Yes but only when I restart a game/ play a remake, I never Nickname them on my first run unless there is a really good joke to make. I think it's more of a matter of learning the names of the new Pokémon than anything...
