It's weird seeing Attack of the Clones and Empire Strikes Back so close to each other in a sentence. Seems unnatural.

Anyway, I don't think she'll lose a body part. Part of the effectiveness of Luke's robotic hand was its symmetry with Vader's. That scene in the throne room in Jedi was a great payoff. Ren, Rey's nemesis, is flesh and bone - so that sense of symmetry is missing.

I expect Rey to lose a lot in VIII - friends, family, hope - but not any body parts.

It will be interesting to see what will happen in Episode VIII, though.

A hand, everybody always loses hands.

Not only the big characters like Luke and Anakin, Anakin twice by the way, but also plenty of small ones. Count Dooku loses both, Mace Windu, General Grievous loses two, Zam the bounty hunter working for Jango Fett in Episode II, C-3PO loses limbs a couple times, that guy in the bar in Episode IV that harasses Luke, the Wampa in the ice cave, Darth Vader of course which means Anakin three times... Who'd I forgot? Some droids and Stormtroopers probably...

Anyway the point is, everybody always loses hands.

Oh, and no chance at all of it being any facial parts such as nose, ear etc. Simply because they'll want the main character to look good and not mutilated.

Would be cool if she loses part of her leg, somewhere below her knee, and we get some nice thigh close ups and stuff.
