Forums - Sony Discussion - Playstation Now Benelux Launch Imminent

The launch of Sony’s cloud gaming service, Playstation Now, is expected to be imminent for those in Europe.

Dutch and Belgium PS4 owners are reporting that Sony is pushing a ‘Playstation Now’ (PS Now) banner to the PS4, which grants access to a PS Now trail of 7 days. After this trial, Sony charges € 16.99 a month for the service. According to the PS Now ad, more than 200 PS3 games are available via Sony’s cloud streaming service.

In Holland and Belgium, the PS Now app is downloadable via the PS Store on the PS4, although it seems that PS3 games aren’t playable yet at the moment of writing. According to a Sony spokesperson, the service will go live in Holland, Belgium, and Luxembourg today (via Tweakers).

In the US, Playstation Now launched back in January of last year. “I’m pleased to announce that starting January 13th, we’ll launch a subscription service for PlayStation Now that will provide instant and unlimited access to a catalog of more than 100 PS3 games. And since you’re using PlayStation Now, you can enjoy the freedom to quickly discover and play a wide range of full games without downloads, installs, or patches (not to mention trips to the store). The subscription service will be available first on PS4 across North America, and will come to other PlayStation Now enabled devices in the future”, said Sony’s director of marketing, Pete Jamshidi last year.

As of December 2015, Sony’s PS Now service was available in Europe as a beta. An official announcement from Sony is expected to be released soon.

I wish Sony would give some numbers for PSNow. The amount of subscribers, or heck, even the amount of games rented in total. Just anything.

It sprobably a modest success.

They're not going to do that. They want all eyes on the consoles and don't want any other narrative to distract gamers. Once PSNow is fully untethered from the PS branded consoles then we'll start to get the numbers. PSNow is and has never been an answer to BC but the media keep running with this because it's all they have. I often laugh when I see people ask 'what's the point?'. The question answers the question but people are too bound to the console mindset that the glaringly obvious gets overlooked.

Forget consoles, this is a 'service' that can eventually reach anyone with a good enough broadband. Sony are just using the consoles to get it out there but the main target (broadband) BURRIES consoles.

Small mistake in the OP: PS Now will go live next week in the Benelux. The Tweaker link got updated.

I'll leave it for now because surely all of Europe won't be far behind.

Beta for these countries happened many weeks ago while beta for other countries hasn't even been annunced

So yeah it's probably far behind

Great to see PS Now continue to expand. The service has been an awesome addition to my PS Vita, and given many hours of fun multiplayer with friends on the PS4.

Hope we see the service make its way to Android and iOS soon. With the phone service on Vita closing down on June 22nd, I need another avenue to be able to play PS Now on the go.

Stop hate, let others live the life they were given. Everyone has their problems, and no one should have to feel ashamed for the way they were born. Be proud of who you are, encourage others to be proud of themselves. Learn, research, absorb everything around you. Nothing is meaningless, a purpose is placed on everything no matter how you perceive it. Discover how to love, and share that love with everything that you encounter. Help make existence a beautiful thing.

In 2 years they better have this WW with most of the best ps2, ps1, ps3, psp, vita and even some indie ps4 games.  It could have major major potential.

And have it on every device possible.
