Its still better marketing to try to sell that potential buyer on your new NX console and make promises they can keep and have a stronger market to support their software to pursuade third parties to return to Nintendo. I am pretty sure, altough I like some games on WII U, any buyer thinking they are buying a console that will still be supported for a few years, because nintendo says its not discontinued, will be a very unlikely future Nintendo buyer or fan.

They need people to buy the platforms they are creating for which is in this case just the NX, which should be announced already. I don't like the communication and direction Nintendo have chosen so far for old platforms or the NX, sadly.

Agreed completely. And it's freaking baffling they aren't showing it at E3. I've been getting a lot of crap myself for saying that was a TERRIBLE decision on Nintendo's part. But look at the software output from Nintendo for two years running. Nothing amazing, and I'll repeat NOTHING!!!! *Sigh*

And I do agree that this is a anti comsumer practice to try and get people to buy a product even though they KNOW it's done. But I don't think people are paying attention anymore. Hell, I don't WANT to care anymore. If they didn't have Monolith Soft I probably wouldn't.... Zelda being cross released has left a bad taste in my mouth for the series. Mario, Smash, and Kart are a good go to for me as a gamer, but at the cost of what? Even with the NX, How many exclusives will the others have?

And I was a "Nintendo fanboy" not two years ago, but I just can't help but to feel  somewhat negative and look for the faults in recent news because this is where they left me. Simply confused and angry for two years. They needed some games for this year, and the beginning of next. they at least NEEDED SO BADLY to announce SOMETHING this year that would have peoples jaws on the floor.... But their not doing anything.... They are going to show the worst version of a Zelda coming to two systems and hoping after TWO WHOLE YEARS OF NOTHING people are going to care whenever they decide to show the NX.... 

So, what happens with the handheld market - you know the thing where Nintendo makes it's money? Does Nintendo abandon this market?

Too early for a head of nintendo to go " Yep its replaceing the Wii U. Our Wii U is dead".

Even though most people probably realise that is whats going to happend.

So hes basically forced to say things that way, its going to be sold alongsides the wii U.

Whenever a new console comes out, the previous console is still sold for about a year. That's how nintendo has been doing it for a while now.

If the Wii U gets the same OS, then perhaps it will still get games, just be the weakest model.

Nintendo are really lying everyday.
Yeah sure NX won't replace the Wii U and it will sell alongside the Wii U... They are just saying this because they don't want Wii U sales to drop even lover now.

Highly unlikely and probably not worth the effort for nintendo (would lose them $).

I think NX can't be looking at like wiiu or 3DS... It's a new concept, for Nintendo it's a new expérience, NX is not HC or HH, probably something between HC /HH so NX don't remplace wiiu or 3DS, take à other way... HH and HC fusion...
