In no way am I saying that what ISIS are doing is right, but both parties are commiting crimes against humanity. We can't pick and choose which is worse, only label them all as messed up as each other.  

At first I started questioning how a group of people could possibly be twisted enough to go through with mass executions of this particularly cruel nature.

Then I saw how even people in this thread, far away from the problems in the middle east, try to argue that the west is just as bad.

Like i said, i'm not advocating what they've done, but to think the west has never implemented twisted practices is naive. 

I am well aware of the US's frequent inhumane treatment of both suspected and proven terrorists and lawbreakers.

Chasing some of the sources in the article you provided, I feel compelled to question the integrity of claims made. Be that as it may, this is beside the point. A question was posed asking which was more evil: being lowered into a vat of acid or being killed by a drone strike and I answered the question.

Reminds me of a Dark Elves quote:
