Forums - Sony Discussion - I really dislike the PS4's menu layout.

I really don't understand how anyone can have a problem with the PS4 UI. Its simplicity em-personified.

The most refent app you used is at the forefront of the recent bar. Simple as that.

I also want an ability to customize what appears where, but that doesnt mean the UI is bad at all.

At least IMO.

It really sucks the best menu for all consoles was the original xbox360 one. Pity microsoft changed it.

Oh the wording of that is just brilliant :)

I don't think they use their available space very well. Everything is huge and very little helpful information is show. For examples when you go to the 'friends' icon, it only shows 2.5 friends in that preview space.

Platinums: Red Dead Redemption, Killzone 2, LittleBigPlanet, Terminator Salvation, Uncharted 1, inFamous Second Son, Rocket League

I respect your opinion.

That's the reason why I went into detail and posted pics in the Op. If it was just my recently used apps, I'd be fine. My problem is there are apps I rarely use, have never used, and a couple that aren't even downloaded taking up space in my UI!

Of course, it's a "first world problem". I still find what I'm looking for, it looks nice, and it is very responsive. It just irritated me today more than usual.

My only complaint are the apps being pushed amidst my current games.

It's the best it can be, given its limited methods of input.

I'm happy for the people that find the menus simple and easy to navigate, but for a person who likes to meticulously organize everything, it drives me crazy. I don't want a game to appear in a certain spot on my main menu unless I put it there. I want all my PS1 games to be in a folder separate from my PS4 games so they're easy to find and access, and feel organized. The current PS4 menu is a nightmare for me.

All I want from Sony is two things; folders for the menu, and a wishlist functionality for the console versions of PSN. Lacking those feels really strange, since they seem like obvious and simple features to implement.

The best imo.

yeah i don't like it looks like a clusterfuck, i want something more organized.

It is for people who love a challenge, remember that game you played almost two years ago lets's scroll to the right and hope you find it fast =p.

Personally what is annoying is when you start up your ps4 and go your game tile you see under it automatically a streamvideo of someone, I was going for full platinum for FFX(-2) and I saw a stream screenshot of the endboss. It's really hard to miss =p.
