This is the article I have referenced in a few of my posts criticizing the debut. People talk about graphics and sales, the core issue here is gameplay flaws that have existed for a long time are still not fixed. Gameplay wise it appears there is nothing new here. That blows. The game could suddenly morph into the most beautiful racer ever and sell 20 billion copies, who cares if were still racing the same lame AI with bumper car physics and laughably bad sound.

GTS threads are going to be glorious come release.

The PS5 Exists.

Maybe it's a VR compatible game, that might be the reason it looks like a ps3 game.

it doesnt look like a PS3 game, it looks like any 8 Gen racer if you targed 60fps, driveclub does look better but its 30fps. But i do think the Neo and VR do have an impact on devolopement, the final assets arent decided yet for 4 hardware configirations me thinks

Yeah this game is pretty much a beta for GT7 its pretty light on content also considering its not a launch game 137 premium cars 19 locations and 37 track layouts.

Really don't know what those guys at Polyphony Digital are doing for all those years man. Seems like they are just traveling the world doing research and making a car porn encyclopedia. Then, after 2 years, they realize they have to actually make a game and whip something together from rehashed assets of a last gen version.

If this game has 50 premium cars and 200000 cars with models from the ps2 era again, I'm going down to Polyphony Digital HQ and throw eggs at their window, who's with me?!

137 cars will be on the game, all developed on PS4, all "premium" (made new on outside and inside), no rehash of anything.
You may have not liked what you saw, that's cool, but please, if you cared to look for the game care to look for info as well, if you are going to be acting like this.

Fair enough, but you have to admit, PD are some of the oddest developers out there. I actually been a huge fan of the franchise ever since the ps1, and it's the only racing game I'd ever actually bought. Still, the fact that they spend half a year to create one car with maticulous attention to detail and then keep using the same engine sounds as 15 years ago is pretty damn mindboggling. Also adding so many rehashed tracks from last gen versions, makes the game extremely inconsistent. It's something that gets mentioned in every single review since GT4, and it kinda seems like they keep releasing a game that is still a work in progress.

Anyway, to me this looks like exactly the same game as GT5 on the ps3. Maybe it's just a Prologue or a VR titel, but there is no way I'm going to spend full price on this.

Will it still be a game about collecting cars with good driving physics while driving along other cars which are not equally fast as you and don't react to you or to other drivers at all, or will it become a racing game?

Lol, get to GT6 right now and go do a kart or one car only race and see if they aren't as fast as you.

If you keep using cars with 50CV+ with full upgrades to race the others don't really expect them to be as fast as you.

It has been a racing game since the very first title, like you or not.

I platinumed GT6. I've played every major GT extensively and enjoyed them all. But GT is getting, or got pretty old by now.

How odd is to bring up karts as example of tight races? Yes, the paces are tight in karting, because you can't be over- or underpowered.

However, in 90% of the events, you either are too slow to compete with the top 1 or 2 cars, or you are too fast.

Oh and I forgot, but how ridiculous was the structureof races in GT6. You started last and then had to overtake them one by one, becoming basically a time trial in which you had to be fast enough to get first before the race was over.

This reminded of the original Ridge Racer on PS1. Good times, but yeah, that was 20 years ago.

Game of the year 2017 so far:

5. Resident Evil VII
4. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe
3. Uncharted: The Lost Legacy
2. Horizon Zero Dawn
1. Super Mario Odyssey

I never expected to be blown away by it. I haven't been since GT3 on the PS2.
