I think Idris Elba has already been denied the role for various reasons and from what I gather, Tom Hiddlestone is favourite to take the role. However, it seems anyone who takes the bond role does it almost as an end of the career act. I can't remember many Bond's who have done well after their life as Bond. They usually peak with the Bond films and then slowly fade away taking the occasional odd role.

See I don't really fully agree with you with the whole black guy cannot play white guy role (Namely your arguement with F4, that was the director and writer all the way, not the actors), but in the case of Bond, I do agree with you, namely in today's climate of the world, maybe 20 years from now, who knows, however I don't think the general audience is ready for it, and it will do bad on that reason alone, Spectre could be the worse movie, but it would end up doing better. 

What about Fassbender? Hes German/Irish, sounds close enough to me.

Nope. Only Casino Royale is based on a book. The rest are all original stories. I have read all the original books.

He's probably tired of doing them. I know I would be, he's made plenty of money off of them anyway.

Would be fine for me, but i think the british would rather kill themselves than have a german play Bond.
