Forums - Movies & TV - Daniel Craig turns down £68m deal for two more James Bond films

Serious money.

Craig had a good run as Bond, Casino Royale is brilliant, Skyfall is great too. I think they'll pick Idris Elba for the part, and he would be cool. Unless they build further on Craig's Bond story, like they did way back with the old ones, then they'll pick someone that's reminiscent of Craig obviously, but off the top of my head I don't who could potentially qualify.

Casino Royale was amazing. He will be missed by me.

Tom Hiddleston please. He was amazing in The Night Manager. And he basically played James Bond there.

I agree on Idris Elba. Though I remember reading somewhere that Elba would do it "for the right reasons" and doesn't want to be known as "the black Bond". Totally understandable if he doesn't; but we all know even if he does, it'll go to Cumberpatch because we all want another boring Bond.

I'm thinking Samuel L. Jackson.

An American? Playing Bond?.... such disrespect.

I'm going to assume the Samuel L Jackson idea was in jest because the guy is 67. They might as well bring back Sean Connery.

Idris Elba is an idea that's thrown around frequently, but in both actual age and appearance he's too old. They want somebody for at least three films. Bond should appear to be in his 30s in his first film, as Daniel Craig did. Idris Elba will be 45 when the next Bond film comes out and he's already grey.

At the very least you need someone who:
- Will appear to be in their late 30s in 2018
- Is British - preferably Scottish, but they rarely are - or in a stretch can at least put on the accent.
- Can pull off tough but classy.

I think they should get Spurgeonryan as the next bond :D

I'm not the biggest fan of 007 as it is, but the last movie was unbelievably weak, I could not finish it. To imagine people paid money to see it, just wow.

He must have been high on crack to turn down that...

WTF. All these suggestions for the new Bond and not a single person mentions Jonah Hill. Shame on you all.
