Forums - Microsoft Discussion - Microsoft is focusing more on old games rather than new games.

Microsoft's software output?

Good, I'm not complaining. 47 20.35%

Not bad, but they can do better. 50 21.65%

Bad, I'm not happy. 134 58.01%

Total:231

Just seems that way because BC is a boss feature. Last gen had stellar titles that still hold up well and there are many disenfranchised communities of gamers this gen that let go of their favorite games moving onto new hardware.

Blops for instance. Just as people love their Counterstrike or other staple MP, lots of people are happy to go back to Blops and the rekindled community BC opened up. Matchmaking was poppin' yesterday, had a nice run of games and it was as fun as always. I love that i can do hat on my XBO while hoping into QB or Halo 5 on a whim.

Where did I say you can't mention upcoming games?

Mention them if it makes you feel better, it doesn't change the drought up until now and the fact that new games are being cancelled and delayed, which is the point of the thread.

Where did I say that you said that mentioning upcoming games isn't allowed?

The whole point is that apparently it wasn't clear what your thread was about. This is based on the OP which is at least not clear. So what you are trying to say is that MS' first party output is lacking?

Yeah, you are the first person in this world that thinks that way /s.

There were so many threads about it, it's only not apparent due to the ridiculous search function on this forum.

More interesting in the last weeks and months were discussions about the impact and importance of exclusives in nowadays gaming but this isn't adressed at all in this thread.

What these threads are mostly for is that people again are free to post their opinion about MS. But this is what forums are for: posting your own opinion.

If you don't like the thread why you keep posting? It's not like you are giving a great contribution after all.

Some moving goalposts around here. When Sony was in a drought, no amount of third party and indie games mattered. Now they do supposedly.

MS first party output has generally been lacking, and seems to be getting worse. Hopefully they can have a good holiday, with Halo Wars 2, Crackdown 3 and FH3, but once again the first three quarters of the year are poor. Don't see Sea of Thieves making this year.

Everytime i see Cobalt on a list, i cant help but LOL

Talk about a list filler with that 67 Meta Rated game that lets be honest here, nobody cares.

Also, Sea of Thieves is the kind of game that appears on every list available when people are talking about Xbox One exclusives, but i see that game underperforming when it actually releases.

If the game actually underperforms, we will for sure see here how Sea of Thieves was never hyped, that nobody even talked about it, etc.

(Project Spark, im looking at you)

They do seem to be trying to make new games (perhaps even more than they did in the past) but there is also a lot of focus on backwards compatibility, which I don't really care for but it's great for those that do.

As far as Microsoft exclusives, I, for the most part, ignore news about them so I don't become hyped because so far, I've been disappointed almost every single time. I really don't expect that to change going forward, at least not for a few years.

Don't get me wrong though, I've immensely enjoyed my time on the Xbox One thus far and wouldn't change it for any other console (unless a certain set of events happened)

it's not just xbox,.. nadella seems to be refocusing microsoft as a whole to only focus on a few highly profitable things. bad for xbox, windows phone, surface but probably great for ms's stock holders.

First of all, you are lying about Sony. They didnt "had it" last year.

Actually, Xbox One has just Quantum Break for this year. If you want to count a shitty XBL game as Cobalt or Ori, a game from last year, or even a Killer Instinct DLC, i would say that you are just trying hard to include every List Filler to hide the fact that the first half of this year has been disastrous.

Do i have to remind you that Quantum Break was underwhelmingly received by the press and also flopped sales wise?

BC is cool, but to say that someone is fine because they can battle the droughts with Xbox 360 games is laughable at best.

And finally, so what if E3 is weeks away?

Do you think that they are going to announce new games AND release them this year?

This years Line-Up is already planned, and no matter what they reveal at E3, the list wont change.

For starters, don't tell me I am "lying". You're more than welcome to disagree with my opinion, but I don't give a shit enough to lie about it. Also, try toning down your salt levels a bit. I'm getting dehydrated just by reading your retort.

MS has more than Quantum Break this year. I listed other things. I don't care for your list wars BS. Others have replied to me and included a yearly sports update and a remaster in their list of things Sony brought by this time in 2015. Where is your reply to them about those "not counting"? And season three of Killer Instinct is more than just "a DLC" :)

You can remind me of your opinions about QB's reception and sales all you want, it's just more irrelevant salt sprinkled in.

Lastly, I never said anything about games being announced at E3 2016 and releasing in 2016. Try maybe reading the OP. He's concerned MS is throwing in the towel. He'll get his answer at E3, which is only a few weeks away. Hope that helps.

If you say (which you said) that the situation of Microsoft this year is the same as Sony's of last year, yes. You are indeed lying.

Why would i be salty when i actually own a Xbox One. It would be silly for me to bet against the console when i opened my wallet and spent money buying the console.

Also, im not fighting any list war, the OP is clear enough and im obviously commenting in regards of the Original Post.

Finally, i think you are being too agressive towards me. Calm down a bit so we can continue this discussion in peace bro.

I'm not saying M$'s output is anywhere near Sony's but jeez! I see people saying games like Onechanbara Z (which i actually bought on day one despite being like a 29% on Metacritic at the time!) counts when comparing consoles or a port like Gravity Rush (which I also bought!) or an indie game like Resogun (which I got for free) is a system seller. Meanwhile games like Quantum Break aren't important because it didn't sell well or Cuphead is not retail and only retail games are important!

Maybe I'm not seeing the right threads but it seems like people want M$ to suck and the narrative will always switch to support it. I mean, get it. Ps4 is more powerful, sells better, has more games, had higher rated games, and has pretty much every advantage. You won ! No need to come at M$ like it's 7th gen, anymore.

Sea of Theives had been lauded since day one. People wanted Rare to make something different. You can't find a single "Sea of Thieves is going to be awesome" thread. It's still a game . It still exists. It still counts and hopefully, when it releases, it will be good.

Wow, your brutal!

Just like Gozilla right? hey Agro.... *whispers* that has a 38 meta.

I would be ashamed to include Godzilla in a List War.
