They control horribly by today's standards.  The shooting is so bad too on some of them.  Gta V is very easy to control.

I don't recall a single instant where I struggled with the controls. I guess I'm the sort of person who goes "gotta get good at these new controls" rather than "ugh! these controls are so bad!"

And as the poster said all gta have lots of escort missions and some very bad ones.  That RC helicopter mission was a fucking pain in the ass.  As we're some others.

I'd much rather these things than the bore of the current GTAs. The ps2 GTAs had varied and challenging missions, current GTAs are way too cutscene heavy, dialogue heavy, and fetch heavy for my taste.

To me I love every gta.  But I don't let nostalgia cloud my judgment.  They control horribly now.  The gameplay is the definition of basic.

If gta V was the first gta you played as a kid I guarantee you'd love it.

Your comment about getting good is funny,  how about you get good at the online and enjoy it instead of complaining about assholes.  Like not as if they do anything out of the ordinary in the world of gta.

It doesn't get more basic than fetch quests and GTA 5 is full of them. Full of cutscenes too where the game wrestles control away from you. Not to say a game like Vice City or San Andreas didn't have them but there were plenty of little minigames to break up the monotony.

Probably. As a kid, I probably wouldn't know any better.

I can do more about bad controls than assholes online. There's almost no fixing assholes.

Holy crap this is what I call a real beast!!!
GTA V completely deserves to be the best selling game of alltime!!!

The ps2 GTAs were full of a ton of very basic missions too.  But I loved them just like I love gta V.

Gta V has way more minigames then the old GTAs.  Problem for you is they are online.  whether it's,  missions,  heists or the many mini games there is so much fun to be had online and unlike the ps2 days you can do it with your friends.

I love the cutscenes in the single player just like I did in GTA4.  I'm a fan of the whole series.  Sadly for you replaying the old games sounds like your future with it.

He didn't say it is. He said it deserves to be.

Tempted to get the game on PS4 first and then double dip on the PC version when I build my new PC later this year or next year.

I might as well - since I've been double dipping since GTA Vice City lol.

If everyone was like you there would be no doom and gloom in the industry.  Sales for all!

Like Teeqoz said, it isn't the best selling game as of now.
I wanted to say that it deserves to be the best selling game someday in the future.

Sure there were basic missions in the ps2 GTAs but I've seen an increase of them in GTA 5 and worse too.

Most of my friends don't play GTA online so I'm out of luck. Still, just because all these things are in gta online (if they are, I didn't spend much time on gta online) it's no excuse for them to be missing from the single player.

Well if GTA continues like this, that's probably true. Nothing sad about it though: I want to waste my time on good games, not mediocre ones.
