Forums - Nintendo Discussion - The Pokemon Series honestly pisses me off

Isn't Nuzlocke kinda sabotaging the game to make it harder? I mean, a well designed game shouldn't need that.

A higher difficulty mode could improve the challenge in many ways. Aside from improved IA, which will be the main aspect to improve, NPC trainers could also scale their level-and pokemon evolutions and moveset- according to yours. In X and Y it's incredibly easy to be overleved thanks to the way the exp share, and exp distribution in general, works, so its very easy to 1 hit ko almost every enemy in near end-game areas.

They've always been really easy. It's just the way the games are. I do wish there was more challenge, but, like I said, they are not known to be challenging.

They keep getting easier though.

The original yellow is considered the most difficult version. It came out in the late 90's. That's kind of sad, no?

It's considered the hardest because the starting pokemon are all weak or ineffective against the first gym, due to the fact that the game was not designed around starting with an electric type. After that it becomes just as easy as the rest of the series.

Complaining about game difficulty is like complaining about McDonald's lack of pasta on the menu. If you don't like what they're serving, simply go eat somewhere else. Expecting them to change their menu for you is silly.

Literally zero games have catered to the faithful who supported the original games. Zero.

Not true. Black/White were made with the older target audience in mind after HG/SS. Of course, they failed at that, imo.

"The increase in age didn’t stop with HeartGold and SoulSilver, though. When Pokémon Black and White were released in 2010, those two games were bought mainly by users between the ages of 19 and 24. In fact, in the case of Black and White, the developers had made a conscious decision to create a pair of games targeted to appeal to older players, in order to prevent them from “graduating” from Pokémon as they grew up."

Just play Digimon Story Cyber Sleuth. Better than all the Pokemon games.

Note: I only read the first and last page.

They could go the way Fire Emblem Fates went and have the two games be diffrent difficulties and playstyles.

I would love it if difficulty scaled dynamically with your pokemon teams level, so that simply grinding becomes less of an option. Also better ai and more dynamic teams in opposing trainers and gym leaders would be great.

I'd also love it if they balanced the pokemon themselves a little better. Some pokemon just get screwed by the meta and appearently competitive pokemon is pretty boring to watch because you just see a lot mirror teams battling it out. I'd love to see more viable playstyles.

And yes, a good story wouldn't hurt.

I might do a nutzlocke yellow run, just to try it out.

This is the only Pokemon game i would ever play https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1HayjZsTnBE
