Forums - Nintendo Discussion - The Pokemon Series honestly pisses me off

The thing is, you can make it easier or harder for you.

I never liked this argument.  Whenever I play a game, I do everything I can to make it as easy as possible for myself (aside from the actual difficulty setting).  This is because I otherwise feel like I'm not trying my best, and the game is therefore less fulfilling.  If there is an EXP Share, I'll turn it on.  If there are potions, I'll use them.  I would love to also select "Hard Mode" so that doing these things can have more meaning, but even without it I don't feel like I'm playing the game right if I don't do these things.

They've always been really easy. It's just the way the games are. I do wish there was more challenge, but, like I said, they are not known to be challenging.

Hi

I have to agree on the difficulty part. I bought Pokemon Yellow from the eShop and that game was challenging without needing to grind. Heck, I was able to beat the elite four with level 50 pokemon when they had level 55 - 65. If Sun and Moon continues X and Y's 3 pokemon per gym leader and 4 pokemon per elite four, they should consider raising the opponents' pokemon level higher. A balance 6 party team can defeat a 3-4 Pokemon team that is 10 level higher and share the same type. Especially since the cpu never switches out their pokemon.

Why don't you play nuzlokes ? it doesn't take any time to do them and the difficulty raises quite a lot, of course everyone is waiting for a difficult mode but as of now thee was one just in B2/W2

I understand it's a series aimed at younger kids... but come on.

Literally zero games have catered to the faithful who supported the original games. Zero. It's rediculous. The game are EXTREMELY easy. No challenge for the *core*/older gamer.

I mean, I'm only 22, but I really would like a more difficult and matured up Pokemon game for once. At the VERY least add a freakin difficulty option. How hard can that be? Literally have two modes. The normal mode; and a difficult mode that scales up all pokemon by like 5% (idk just an option)

The story can even stay the corny same with the writing that 5 year olds understand. Just make the game more diffucult.

Just a little rant. And don't give me that "oh well it's online and that's where the real pokemon gamers go" BS. I play single player Pokemon. Ain't nobody got time for that next gen online crap.

Play competitive, I'll kick your butt back to the PS1.

super single challenge (after you beat single challenge) is a bit challenging imo.

Everyone's been complaining for difficulty settings for what seems like ages now. But really what would that encompass? Higher levels on the trainers? Less opportunities to grind? People want a hard mode but never say what they would change.
Also if you really do want a challenge, online is your best bet. Same for really any multiplayer focused game these days.

I could write you an essay right now on all the ways Pokemon could significantly increase the difficulty without making people have to grind a single level. In fact, I could do it while making exp. share mandatory.

Fair enough. Interesting bit about making the exp. share mandatory though.

Issue I really had with X/Y was trainers all having 1 Pokemon and the gym leaders having maybe 3? Its sad

I agree. Multiple difficulty modes would be fantastic. I enjoy the single player campaign and wish it could be a challenge.

Here's what I would do for the hard mode:
All trainers have higher level Pokemon and have better AI. Some trainers have more Pokemon.
Gym leaders, Elite 4, and the champion have much better AI, have Pokemon that level up with you with a level that is based on your highest level Pokemon (this prevents you from playing with only one Pokemon), have Pokemon with perfect IVs and are fully EV trained, and have additional Pokemon with better move sets.

If anything, i toutgh taht people were hoping for less grinding in rpg games, and now you are saying that they should do more?
