Forums - Movies & TV - Nintendo wants to enter the filmmaking biz.

Oh come on guys. Some of Nintendo games have great stories like Fire Emblem and Xenoblade. The Paper Mario games have good comedy writing. It's not like Miyamoto said he was gonna make the films himself.

I want a Star Fox Movie. Not a Live Action one....But a legitimate Star Fox Movie would be lovely.

I'm still fairly new. I hope nobody flogs me for not being able to hide my links behind text quite yet. But if you have time, check out my YouTube Channel!!!

That'd be sweet if they make pixar type movies with their IPs. Something like Smash Bros Brawl or any style from Smash 4 would be aaaweesoooome.

I have my doubts they will do something of this scale though. I feel maybe they will be more like shorts such as the Pikmin ones. Regardless, I am excited to see what they come up with.

I still don't know how that stuff would work out when a lot of their franchises have all their characters be mute.

I'm now filled with determination.

i dont go to movies anymore cuz of previews. Last AAA title I had to sit for 45min before the dam thing started. and the thing was 3 hours long.

so i said you know what im sick of this shit.

now if I MUST see a movie. I go when its OLD and i come in 20 min late always so i skip the previews. but getting a good seat is fine cuz the movie is old and its usually empty.

but still hate previews so i go to the movies maybe once a year.

Nintendo is known for its deep and well thought out storys in games... its a known fact! am I right?
These games will translate perfectly to the movie screen! what could possibly go wrong?

In all seriousness, I just want nintendo to stick to makeing games.
That fortune they plan on spending on movies? put it towards your console, or opening new studioes for game developement instead.

Don't they have attractions coming to Universal set in stone?

I'm gonna say they are going into film making with Universal.

How quickly people forget...

As long as it's not Shigeru.

But yeah, as Onion said, for a movie with no gameplay, they'll know the importance of storytelling. Hopefully that means they'll hire someone with experience in this field. If they do it in house, then perhaps they'll look towards Monolith. But I think it's better to get someone who has written for an actual movie before.

With all due respect to those guys, they'd write a terrible movie plot. Video game writing standards are far lower on average than film writing standards. A XC-like story wouldn't fly on a movie. They need actual film writers who understand how to write film.

If Angry Birds can make a movie with a plot then Nintendo definitely can.
