Earthbound made by Pixar

Called them doing it themselves. Like I said, they made a major investment in the company that did the pikmin shorts. I'm pretty sure they are the same guys who did the smash brothers intros. Screw doing anime.

I'm calling something else too – a cgi Nintendo cinematic universe with "super smash bros" as their "avengers."

Also, once again, people are severely underestimated how important this is to the success of NX and to the success of Nintendo as a superpower brand. Doing this, mobile, and theme parks right will be monumental for them.

Can Nintendo really tell a quality story in a movie? It's not that easy, Disney/Pixar are successful because their movies have depth to them and solid storytelling which appeal to adults, not just characters/nostalgia/fancy CGI.

Sure why not? they are already dead in the gaming business

I'd be fine, as long as they know what they're doing.

I'm not exactly sure which Nintendo IP would be the best fit for a movie.

"Just for comparison Uncharted 4 was 20x bigger than Splatoon 2. This shows the huge difference between Sony's first-party games and Nintendo's first-party games."

yes, i want a zelda movie.

It's not that they can't do it or that they don't have the money and creativity to do it, they just don't do that. For a movie there's no gameplay so they know what they have to do or they will find a partner that knows what they have to do, they had movies and shorts before, kirby's movie, or pokemon the movie. or this

btw the pikmin stuff is fantastic

They'll likely hire actual writers.

God, I hope they hire actual writers.

I remember that there were talks about Nintendo getting into the film business shortly after Reggie joined the company. Shit that was a long time ago o.0

A Metroid movie was planned a long time ago and never came to fruition.
