They're persistent, I will give them that. The game did pretty poorly in the west last time despite pretty aggressive advertising given the subject matter. Personally, I expect a sales decline rather than increase. I just really, really don't see this taking off no matter how much Level 5 wishes it was so.

I think this has Nintendo hands all over it.Maybe, and Im just guessing here, is that Nintendo may be funding some of the localization, in a effort to convince Level 5 to bring it over, to make the 3DS year better, since first party wise, there hasnt and there wont be that many games, even though we got some quality stuff.

My (locked) thread about how difficulty should be a decision for the developers, not the gamers.

I doubt that.  Nintendo has Pokemon coming this year; Yokai is its rival.  Sort of.  I am betting it's Level 5 based on their smug comments late last year.  Nintendo I think does provide some funding to promote the game.  But I doubt Nintendo is doing all that much localization wise.  Could be wrong.

I still haven't played the demo for the original one yet D:

Wonder if this game will do better than last time, now that there are 2 versions for it

I love Yokai Watch, when I saw the news I almost cry hahaha... really :P
Level 5 said the game sold almost 200K (with digital) as of 31th december 2015, so assuming that everyone that bought the game wants the second game and that it comes as a double release I´m predicting 300K first week in USA :)

yearly releases??? not a fan. Hope it's telling an entertaining and original story at the very least.

Not really a yearly release. Considering we got the original nearly 3 years after Japan and its sequel (this one) a year or so late

Good, I enjoyed the first one somewhat. I hope, and assume, that this one streamlines a few of the more annoying aspects of the first one.

Dang, I haven't even played the 1st yet. I really need to fix that before YW2 releases.

Good move Nintendo. now my kids would ask for it. hopefully both of my kids won't ask for the game. 1 could play the 1st installment, the other one would play Yokai 2. :)

I think it's great they are doing the 2 version release when Japan alreaey has the single release that contains both games on 1 card.

But guess they need as much money from kids and ppl as possible.

Source to this even existing?

There are 3 versions of YW2.

I recall this info being true back at the Japan launch... seems wikia entries say a thing so that's what I am basing it on now.

Shinuchi is reported to be a third version of Yokai Watch 2, with minor story differences and additional content. This is similar to how earlier Pokemon games worked. For example, Pokemon Ruby and Sapphire were almost identical except each had a number of unique Pokemon. And then Emerald came out and added more content but not all of the content from Ruby and Sapphire carried over.

In short, there is no version of Yokai Watch 2 with all the content on one cart. Each of the three games has unique content. My guess is that they'll only release these two versions in the west and release any content from Shinuchi as downloadable content (whether that's free or not is anyone's guess).
