Because in the US at retail it did.  Digital will be higher for SFV and WW SFV has sold more.

People are celebrating Pokken selling more at retail only in the USA.  Why lol.  It's the world that counts.

Weren't you celebrating that victory the PS4 had on the 3DS the first two months of 2015 in the US? Is still in your signature and its only about the USA.

Regardless, the only facts we have are the released numbers which are only retail for Pokken in the US and I believe in Japan too. Until we have the complete data for both games, worldwide numbers are a guess.

Lol! I was about to say! The guy celebrated in 1 region, but states that WW is where its at for this one.......... Short loss memory or........

LOL well done.

Idk why some are defending SFV in the thread. As consumers we should be glad it's not doing as well as Capcom hoped. Not only was their an exclusive deal keeping it off two viable platforms permanently, but they released an unfinished game and charged $60.

Uhh...I don't even know why digital is being discussed in this thread, really.

With that, we know that Pokken has done better than SFV on the PS4 in both the US and Japan digital+retail sold. That only leaves Europe as an unknown right now. I think it's safe to say that Capcom overshipped SFV by a lot, because I can't see Europe making up that big of a difference.

That being said, this is also just the case at the moment. The Wii U is pretty much being killed off next year so Pokken's legs might suffer afterwards, but at the same time SFV doesn't have great word of mouth or momentum at the moment. So it's hard to tell which will do better lifetime.

I want to get Pokken but does it play like a Tekken game?
I don't like Tekken fighting style

Lol you weren't bemoaning the fact titanfall and sunset overdrive weren't on ps4. Titanfall wasn't exactly the most content heavy 60$ release either.

And ps4 beating the 3DS was notable because the 3DS had a new sku release and least gen ps had no chance vs Nintendo handheld.

Insomniac tried to go with Sony first for Sunset but Sony would not back it without Insomniac giving them the IP in exchange. So no, I don't fault Insomniac for going with Microsoft there. Why you would even try to use Sunset as an example shows either extreme reaching or extreme ignorance in regards to Sunset.

As for Titanfall, read The Final Hours of Titanfall sometime. It would help you avoid future confusion such as this thread.

And how do you know capcom didn't want Sony to help develop and fund the game?  You act as if Sony forced capcom to make it exclusive.

And you don't know MS didn't throw a wad of cash to make titanfall and sunset exclusive.  You don't know what happens behind closed doors.  They have way too few first parties and thus went on a mad exclusive 3Rd party hunt imo.

Sunset,  tomb raider and titanfall.  they went HAM at the start of the gen and only now since they've failed does it look like they've given up courting these 3rd party deals that frankly is a waste of money.

To me deals like SFV are a result of that and Sony fighting back.  They'd be happy to have them all multiplatform as they know the ps4 will have the lionshare of the sales on them all.

Conspiracy theories and your personal opinions are cool and all but ill side with actual talk from the people who made Sunset Overdrive and Titanfall, thanks. Same in regards to whether they're "failures" or not. We know EA said Titanfall exceeded their sales expectations. We know Capcom said SFV sold below expectations thus far. Did Insomniac ever confirm this for Sunset? Too early on Tomb Raider.

Also, what exactly is Sony "fighting back" against? They have made these deals all the way back to the PSone days.

Hey just gonna throw this out like I did in the other SFV thread, if you have Gamefly you can snag SFV for dirt cheap right now, less than $20, more like $14 if you have a rewards coupon. Just a heads up. Guess like most in the industry, they ordered too many.
