Forums - Sales Discussion - UK Chart Week Ending 14 May 2016 (Uncharted 4: 190K)

Good for uncharted. I find it somewhat disturbing that in that top ten list there are 6 FPS games in there!!!!

SIX!!!!!!!!

Didn't seem to worry Halo 3.

Thats because Halo 3 was THE must have exclusive of last gen, and still the biggest exclusive released last gen. Halo 5 isn't even comparable,  neither is Uncharted 4 or any other exclusive this gen for that matter.

Quantm Break's performance is just sad. MS need to work on their marketing department pronto.

I see...... moving the posts is the best way to win an argument.

So whose fault is it that MS couldn't make Halo 5 the "must have" game for this gen? And don't you think you should let Uncharted 4 be out for at least a year or better yet let this gen finsih before you say "any other exclusive this gen" can't compete with your precious Halo?

Arr yes which leads to the thinking that Halo has series fatigue, it's not even a tiny gap between Halo 3 and Halo 5 sales.

Series fatique? So how will you explain the likes of COD?

And his marketing department silly excuse, no amount of marketing will make a game that sucks great. Just look at the Order.

Wow, what happened to Tomb Raider? Price cut?

Almost top 20 again

When you look at sales of previous Halo games then yes, it's pretty much killed.

And conveniently ignoring console sales, H4 and previous titles had a lot more consoles to be played on than H5... always an agenda on VGC.

Well, we'll have to see how H5 performs vs H1 and H2 to really know if the franchise has suffered a decline. After all, Xb one is going to have a bigger install base than Xb og. The install base argument is spurious in any case. A Halo game of the quality of Halo 2 or 3 would sell 9-10 million on the current Xb one install base no problem. The franchise has suffered a serous decline and people need to accept that. MS / 343 need to do better, or move on.

Awesome news about UC4 and great to see R&C legs. R&C has always had legs for the main games. I remember Tools of Destruction started with about 150-200K first week (global) launch alligned and ended up over 2.5M.

What a super opening for Uncharted 4!!!

And ratchet still beasting at #4.

Good opening for doom too.

QB's drop down the charts is worrying.

Uncharted, the king of exclusives! (until TLoU2 comes!)

Holy shit.  That's amazing for uncharted 4.

lool, its going to do more in the UK than certain games have managed WorldWide. I feel The last of US is responsible for some of this growth, hopefully it proves a future incentive to not force 1 developer to push out the same game for over a decade.

10m is on lock.

What developer was forced to do that?

Forced is likely the wrong word but encouraging studios the freedom to take time away from their big IPs and grow, whilst also giving those IPs a rest instead of immediately giving it to someone else. God of War Ascension, Gears of War Judgement and even Little Big Planet 3 all felt like games that existed to meet a quota IMO.

How much Uncharted did more than Tomb Raider ?, i think that Tomb Raider sold over 60k First week on UK Isn't ?.

both have nearly the same userbase on the UK but Uncharted 4 had a Debut of over 3 times better, i hope that Tomb Raider will sell well when Square Enix release it for PS4.
