I have to say Snake Rattle'n'Roll, even though Rare made quite a few games from mid-80's to mid-90's that could top the list.

Oh, I'm acutely aware that I'm old and that gamers who started after me may have nostalgia for different games than my generation. 

I just honestly hadn't heard a whole lot of positivity about DK64 before, even from the N64 generation.

No, that's right!

When I was a kid, I loved to explore the overworld with the boats, and trying to find everything possible. There's a lot of secrets in this game.

Yes! That's the reason it's my favorite of the SNES trilogy. I love the focus on exploration, secrets, and side-quests.

Holy vote-swing Batman! 

I go to bed and like 4 of the games are practically tied, then I get gome from work today and Kazooie has like three times as many votes as any of the others. XD
