I think tge petion is good because its gonna bring a lot of tgis crap to light. I don't understand why certain cites get so much more influence either.

I don't think any good will come of the petition, myself.  The only real solution is getting people to look anywhere but Metacritic for games information.  Sadly, gamer's couldn't be bothered to watch a video on youtube (yes, you're lazy if you prefer metacritic vs seeing actual gameplay yourself).  The problem is how much weight Metacritic has, even though it's pretty well proven that the number they list isn't necessarily representative of the actual quality of the title. Reviewers can (and have) been bought.

This has been going on for years. Where was the petition when Sonic 2006 got a 85 from a critic that said "You simply can't ask for more out of an action game. Mission accomplished. Sonic is born anew."

There have been worse cases, but NOW we have to take action because its Naughty Dog?

What worse cases?  By all means, do elaborate.   Yes, I say that with a little skepticism, but I also say it so that we're not just talking in vagaries here in the thread.  It's important people realize how many times this shit has gone on.  It's not ok, it's not something we should just shrug our shoulders over.  Good games getting shit marks for lulz (or more accurately, web traffic), and bad games getting great marks for $$$ is a problem, and it's something that absolutely should be stopped.  Guess who isn't going to do that?  Metacritic.

And as has already been stated, the article itself wasn't scored, and the person who did the article isn't a staff writer.

Where was the petition? Where were the people who say Uncharted 4 is treated so unfairly then?

A 4/10 is unreasonable but no more unreasonable than the 4/10 Quantum Break got or the 2/10 Forza Horizon 2 got.

This is just getting childish now. Just accept the troll review.

Hope metacritic doesn't remove it.

The review was never scored so why does Metacritic get to assign one? Also they saw they only take staff reviews. This was not a staff review.  So its more about being consistent with their own practices and being transparent.

If the review was actually scored and the writer was a staff writter (their reason fo rejecting WP 10/10 score) then folks would have to accept it.

Metacritic scores affect bonus pay for a lot of developers so they need to know that are completely subjective whims of the people who pock and choose what to include.

I simply want them to follow their own rules.

Never heard of it. Could you give a source to confirm this? Beacuse if that's true, then the situation is even more pathetic than I thought.

I knew it's gonna happen! Yesterday I talked to my friend about this stuff, somehow they listed 40/100 for Uncharted 4 on metacritic, while his topic/article is just a trash talk with no score but counted to meta.

And some staff explained to fan and mentioned on Angryjoe from YouTube as an example - wtf??

That was a "real" review. Only one article, with an obvious score attached to it. As poor as it is - it is legitimate. AS opposed to a SECOND review that has no score attached to it - that is clearly written in jest.

They got a score from WP. It wasnt in the review, so MC contacted them and they gave it a 4.

Couldn't tell you, I'm not actually interested in Forza (or any microsoft hardware for that matter), so it never really impacted me.   And neither of us can speak for the folks in this thread, so I've no idea who among them played FH2 and found the QTT review abominable.  But, it's kind of concerning really, why weren't more people making a big deal of this?  I'm 100% for highlighting this shit and pointing out the bad journos.  Even if we can't update Metacritic, we as consumers can most certainly archive every single QTT article, and share them that way, destroying their site revenue (Ask Gamasutra and Kotaku how well that works).  It's really a great way to kill a sites traffic, while still crediting the author with their work.

We should be doing the same thing to Kotaku, Polygon, QTT, AVClub, and Metacritic, actually.  If we take a few of these companies out back and beat them to death, the rest of the journo's might actually wake the fuck up and realize we're tired of their horseshit.  And you just saying 'Well it happened here, so this is fine'.  Is pretty sad, honestly.  So another game got fucked over, and since MS gamer's swallowed that load, everyone else should just pipe down and let it happen?  Well, I can only say I strongly disagree.

Washing post gives a score "out of 4". So a 4 out of 4 would be 100%.

They are treating it out of "10" thus the 40 percent. Which is wrong.

You dont know that. Why is MC linking us to the bad review, if the good one is the right one?

Well, we've shown we can do you against us, the challenge is redefining Us to mean all gamers, and them to mean whomever is currently bad for gaming.  Be it journalists, politicians, The South Korean Government etc...

It's only our hobby, I mean, no big deal or anything.
