These are hardly outrageous predictions but I'll put them out there anyway. With all the talk of an Xbox One slim, I still think Sony will announce a PS4 slim along with the PS4 Neo. I Just think we are now entering the window of time after launch where Sony typically release a slimmed down version of their consoles.

Also, while some people are predicting the PS4 to drop to $300 with the Neo at $400, I think they will price the Slim at $350 and the Neo at $450. Reasons are that the PS4 is still popular with not much sign of dipping in sales so no real need to have a price cut. They will want to take advantage of the PS4's success with the Neo offering a 4k gaming experience for $100 more. Personally I think this is the perfect setup, the cheaper to produce slim and more expensive Neo will give them a nice profit and they have plenty of room for a decent price cut and put into action when it's strategically better (Combat Gears launch or for the competitively price holiday).

So what do you think? What are you predictions?

$299.99 PS4

$399.99 PS4 Neo

PS4 VR is going to kill it and become a big hit and one of the must have tech gadgets of the year.

299 PS4 and 399 Neo. I don't think Sony is going to do a slim this year (if ever)

299$ PS4 normal (they might do more revisions, but doubt they do a slim)
399$ PS4k (neo)

No.

$299 PS4 slim.
$399 PS4 on steroid.

I think theres a good chance that'll be a PS4 Slim this year to create a boost in sales (without having a price cut) and reduce production costs. Saying that, they have the Neo and PSVR to launch which might of had all the R & D time and they might want to keep the Slim for next year for tactical reasons.

Do they really need a slim? I think $399 sounds like the sweet spot for Neo, even then I don't know, but you start going more expensive and expectations escalate, which could open a can of worms with the existing PS4 that they don't really need where the PS4 is right now.

Don't ruin the moment

I think the size of the XB1 gave Sony a Slim pass. And let's not forget that thing even has an external PSU brick While even though smaller the PS4s is internal.

Point is, an XB1 slim will probably just end up being around the same size of the current PS4 or slightly smaller. If looking at the PS4 right now compared to what it was in 2013 internally, you will see its also already possible for the console to be at least a third smaller than what it was at launch. So at least that means Sony could choose to go a little smaller if they really want to.

I feel Sony will announce the Neo at $399. but only as long stocks for the PS4 lasts. once that's done they will drop the price of the Neo to $350. Though it may sound crazy, I actually think the Neo will be as low as $299 by the time the NX launches.

I think a $299 Neo for the start on 2017 is way to optimistic. Let's not forget that the PS4 has only had 1 $50 price cut in 2 and a  half years.

I am failing to see the need for a Slim tbqh.

And I really doubt Sony would risk introducing 2 new, and different SKUs into the market at the same time.

To reduce production costs and create a spike in sales without a price cut. I'm sure they've been working on a Slim since the launch of the PS4.
