Forums - Sony Discussion - The PS4 is not powerful enough?

This is probably not the best that the PS4 can do. Santa Monica hasn't released a game this gen :P

Uncharted 4 is already pushing the system to the limit though.... This isn't the end of the generation.

That said, we thought The Order 1886 was pushing the PS4 to its limit and was using a not-so-clever way to hide that it couldn't do 1080p.

It also depends a lot in the game. Framerate comes secondary to many other aspects so that many people don't really care much for it. In FPS tho, the difference between 30 and 60 is everything.

Looks pretty good... but the levels do seem really small. Even the cut scenes dont have any depth or background to them. Definitely good for what the hardware is they are working with but definitely consoles are hugely underpowered this gen there is simply no denying that.

I mostly play RTS and Moba style games now adays as well as ALOT of benchmarking. I do play other games however such as the witcher 3 and Crysis 3, and recently Ashes of the Singularity. I love gaming on the cutting edge and refuse to accept any compromises. Proud member of the Glorious PC Gaming Master Race. Long Live SHIO!!!!

I disagree. To get this level of graphics/physics/whatever in a fairly weak machine as the PS4, the studio needs to spend an insane amount of resources - money/time/workforce - trying to optimize to the last bit.

We need to stop this "lazy developer" thing. Not every studio has such amount of resources to spend on a single game.

So you havent played ps4 exclusives in general the last couple of years onionberry? Its a pretty known fact by now that games like Driveclub, Bloodborne, Infamious, Knack and the order 1886 look better than most AAA games on PC

PS4 and XB1 hardware wise is stone age compared to 2016 technology. That's a fact.
When you have a Dev with an unlimited budget and all the time in the world to create a game. Of cousre its going to look great. Look at Crysis 3 on PC, a last gen game that looks better then most current FPS games. Thats the difference between having limits.

PS3 and Xbox 360 were Dozens of times weaker than Video Cards when GTA V came out, even so 35+ Millions of people purchased GTA V on those machines.

People don't care about graphics, people care about the Games, you think that Star Wars Battlefront or Final Fantasy XV isn't Graphical enought for this generation ?.

This thread isnt about sales.

This whole gen is going to look miles better than PC to you and the next gen and the next gen after that gen. Even when a good PC game pops up it will be compared and smashed to dust over and over. It's a lot better if you just stop setting the bar you know will never move because it's easy for you to adjust it at a moments notice.

So pay up motherfuckers you belong to "V"

As amazing as UC4 is technically, the game isn't pushing the PS4 to its limits. New games will surpass it indefinitely. Final Fantasy VI was released in 1994 and was thought to be a modern marvel in terms of graphics but then there was Donkey Kong Country 2 released in 95 or even DKC3 which looked like a valid 2D PS1 game. The more time you spend developing on a console the more you understand about it, and ultimately you'll find out tricks to push it to its limits.
