Forums - Sony Discussion - Rumor: Gran Turismo Sport and PS VR launching October 12th

German website PS Inside has dug around the official press release portal of PlayStation Germany, and has discovered that not only might Gran Turismo Sport still be on track for release later this year, but it will release alongside the PlayStation VR on October 12th.

Sony has already confirmed that PlayStation VR will release this October, and while nothing has been officially stated one way or the other regarding Gran Turismo Sport, Sony has stressed their confidence in the racing giant debuting on the console as scheduled.

Not only is this entirely possible, but it would comfortably set up Gran Turismo Sport as the title to push Sony’s VR headset, and we already know that GT Sport will support VR out of the box, which makes this recent revelation all the more plausible.

Oh pls, i need Gran Turismo in my Life !!!!! Driveclub is good, but no Racinggame on Earth can beat Gran Turismo (for me) !!!! :)

It makes sense. To sell the PS VR, Sony needs a game that makes good use of it and with a broader appeal among consumers, and Gran Turismo can do both things rather nicely.

Please excuse my bad English.

Currently gaming on a PC with an i5-4670k@stock (for now), 16Gb RAM 1600 MHz and a GTX 1070

Steam / Live / NNID : jonxiquet    Add me if you want, but I'm a single player gamer.

You are very right on it dear sir.

I really hope this is true. The wait has been too long.

Would make sense, in my opinion racing games are some of the games which get the most out of VR since it really changes how you perceive the track with all the corners, braking points and so on... racing fans are also those who you can convince to spend more money (for VR) since many already spend a lot for racing wheels and the likes.

It might not be a big thing for the normal racing game player but for those who take it really serious, VR can change it a lot if implemented right.

Driveclub VR and GTS VR.

I wonder if DC vr will be a free proof of concept title. doubt it's being added as an update and there's no way it can be sold solo.

If Driveclub VR ever sees the light of day.....

A good launch title for PSvr

This would be awesome, I can't wait to trade in my xbox one and get a VR with a killer first game!

Remember what happened the last time there was going to be a racing game launched with Hardware!

Still though, Gran Turismo has a perfectly functional foundation to pull a VR game out with, would be a great way to sell PSVR if you can really experience the thrill of doing laps on the nurburgring in the driving seat.
