Forums - Sony Discussion - Does Naughty Dog think we are children?

Do HUDs piss you off too? Just ignore them
There definitely isn't much later in the game. You still on the first chapter or something?

But most people playing their games are children, so they are not wrong?

Where do you get that idea from? Most gamers are adults.

Your post reminds me of this lol.

What level difficulty are you playing on? In the past games, once you play Hard/Crushing they turn all helpful hints off. If you are on Normal mode then that is most likely your issue.

Hints usually come via dialogue or button prompts if you are taking too long to figure out where to go next and or have died many times in a section to progress.

Although I'm a seasoned gamer they've come in handy for me a few times when I've been distracted by my cat or wife and missed an important bit of dialogue needed to get ahead.

It's not that big a deal though as button prompts can be ignored, other hints are dropped subtly via dialogue and most importantly, it doesn't feel forced as much as organic.

LOL, what a dramatic thread

Well, if he dislikes handholding in that game that much, it's his right to make a thread about it. Especially when he turns hints off.

Absolute travesty.

They should have typed up a 100 page manual (in full colour) and required that all gamers read through the manual before playing the game.

Instead they've included hints of how to play the game in the game itself. disgraceful.

Yes. Blasphemy at play and of course there is nothing between white and black and especially trying to falsify a perhaps extreme argument with another extreme argument is a genius thing to do.

That is just how gaming works nowadays. Devs and console makers try to have an as broad audience as possible so they try to get as many people as possible to buy consoles and games. Frustrating games can have an audience like the Souls games, of course, but generally games with a mass appeal also are made for the masses.
That said, turning *off* hints and still getting them in a game is dumb. Especially when there are already playthroughs on Youtube and dedicated gaming sites that show you how to do something "tricky".
