GTAIV went above and beyond of what I was expecting. I mean the physics, graphics, gunplay, raised the bar in the genre. However, I admit the campaign sucked but that DLC is fantastic.

Halo: Reach added special abilities and made signficant changes to multiplayer. It was a bigger change in the game mechanics than Uncharted 4. Halo 5 also made some pretty signficant changes, feels fantastic because of it.

MGSV has its issues, but its the best game in the series in regard to gameplay.

Aside from not being very different, my biggest gripe with UC4 is big chunk of the campaign not being great. Sorry I've gotten a little bored of ND's lack of innovation in Uncharted. Its a fun game, multiplayer is good as well, but this certainly ain't a 10.

So you confirméd what i said, it becomes purely subjective no, GTA 4 is" just "à big technological and gameplay improvement, that sounds totally like Uncharted 4

I dont feel Halo change were that bigger, especially in Halo 5. Nothing enough big to be called innovation.

This isnt a 10 for you, but it is for a lot of people, thats it.

Not even close, GTAIV was a much bigger leap technically than Uncharted 4. Uncharted 4 feels too much like its predecessor to make that argument.

I kinda doubt you've played Halo 5 or spent a signifcant amount of time with it. So I'm gonna ignore your thoughts on that.

This game is indeed not a 10 for me. I don't understand how a game with average gameplay and numerous boring chapters gets great reviews. Its strange and worth discussing.

Me thinks they did a great job tweaking the formula. No more autoclimbing and the levels are a lot bigger with more tactical gunplay. I'm not sure why some say the AI hasn't improved much, but play the game on hard/ crushing and they really pose a serious challenge. They are constantly flanking you and you die in seconds if you keep sitting behind cover and try to pick the bad guys off one by one.

All in all it's another masterpiece but I am glad that it's the last in the series though. Uncharted is awesome but I can't wait to see what ND can do with another the Last of Us or a completely new franchise.

I'm only 8 chapters in and its good, its really good. But the most part, its a more narrative driven of what we've seen in the past.

Based on what I've read, I'm about 1/3 into the game and I look forward to playing more. But I think I came into this wanting this to take gameplay to a new level and it doesn't quite do that so far. Graphics and story telling though, top notch stuff.

Maybe I've played too much AC, because I feel like I'm in linear version of that with average gunplay... and things have to be constantly moved so I can climb them.

Edit: Made a tweak to the thread title.

It's at this point the game really starts to rev up.

For me it felt very different but in a good way. Gone are the waves of enemies, now replaced by one set who make you plan your way about taking them out and using your surroundings.

I also love the fact there are far more puzzles in this game than any other Uncharted.

This game also has by far the best set pieces. They are longer and fit well into the story. Imagine TLOU set pieces, but bigger and better.

You are in for a treat Mr Puggsly as it only gets better from here!

Not at all, well have to disagree on this one ( and i think most would also disagree , the technological+ gameplay leap is huge in U4 )

I played enough to be able to judge that.

Maybe not for you, but its not an excuse to downplay others opinion, it deserves 10 from all thé people who didnt feel thé beginning was boring ( just like TLOU) and loved thé excellent gameplay.

You should be more open minded

Haven't had a single boring moment in my first playthrough. The game has superb pacing. Gameplay was solid all game long, with everything being improved from the first three games and encounters made much more open in the ways you can approach each of them, depending on your style, and the A.I. isn't acting like cannon fodder anymore. They'll seek you out, flank you if they can, and the enemies can overwhelm you if you don't move around enough: They'll come at you from all directions making it much more diffitult to overcome the odds. Exploration is also much better because of how much more intricate and multi-layered the environments are (only found 59 treasures out of 109 during my first run). I always liked looking for those treasures, and it's actually more fun this time around because of how much bigger the environments are. Gameplay wise, this is the best game in the series by quite a margin, and every aspects of it feel polished, and the controls are tight and responsive.

In any case, it's no surprise for me that you'd downplay the game, while praising other XBO ones. But I am waiting for you to explain what is "clunky" about the game's gunplay.

Hum the only games in your list with more significant changes that Uncharted 4 are Résident Evil 4, COD 4 and MGS ( which is not à good thing, most people are disappointed for this one, thé proof that wanting to change at all cosr isnt a good thing ), Halo Reach, GTA 4 hadnt big change, thzy just had improvements in the gameplay and new features.

It's silly to think a game has to be totally différent to deserve 10/10 scores, thats what new IP are for, à game like Dark Souls 3 with almost no change still deserves excellent scores.

GTAIV went above and beyond of what I was expecting. I mean the physics, graphics, gunplay, raised the bar in the genre. However, I admit the campaign sucked but that DLC is fantastic.

Yeah these games were all huge changes, especially GTAIV. The physics and gunplay alone were way different than the previous games. The physics completely changed the game.

Disappointed ND is sticking to their formula so much without innovating at all but they have gotten pretty good at the formula and it lends itself well to good reviews.
