Forums - Sony Discussion - I feel like Uncharted 4 is the perfect game for people that alreadly think Uncharted is perfect.

Personally, I'd rather let TR be TR and Uncharted...but hey, opinions and all that.

I don't want it to be a clone of TR, but I think we were mislead about scale of Uncharted 4.

I thought this was going to be a more open game and some areas are, but for the most part it feels like the same ol' Uncharted, very linear but with a few new tricks.

I want to clarify I do like the game but I always play Uncharted games wanting something more and games like AC and TR do that. Uncharted beats them in charm though, but AC makes intersting lead characters sometimes.

Uncharted 4 is perfect for those who like great games. Fact is Uncharted is the definitive third person action game as proven by the metascore, games like TR copying it and devs like Kojima praising it. The gameplay is the best and you don't need to think it is perfect to realize that. Those who disagree are in the minority thus making them insignificant in the world. It is also the standard in gaming for controls and gaming design. Nothing else compares to the quality of this game. If you want to play something inferior than do that, but don't try to force your irrelevant opinion on why the game is great or who it is great for.

games a beast so far i like it more than 2 and 3, i liked DF campaign the most out of the three wont rate this till im done only up to chapter 6

havent read any spoiler or watched much prior to launch i really like how its much more mature than the ps3 games and the cutscenes are watchable for and adult male like myself the other 3 felt cartoony. i think the only thing that can ruin this for me is if it ends up being the last uncharted game i think sony really have something here and they should continue on with this adventure treasure hunting indiana jones movie type game even if its w/o nathan

Why do guys keep playing first person shooters? I mean, they are all just like all the other first person shooters, right? You just put bullets in different things.

Remember folks, don't have an opinion that differs from the critics.

Killzone 2 by the way still one of the greatest games ever made, set the standard in FPS, and always mentioned when discussing greatest games of the 7th gen (in bizarro world).

Any FPS title that really gets traction these days has an online focus.

For single player, I guess people like jumping on ledge after ledge while listening to guys trade quips.

A lot of games are shallow if you wanna REALLY get into it.

So it's not more open? A lot of people here talked it up to be. That blows. I understand ND wants to craft a certain type of experience, and they are good at crafting their kind of experience. But as others in the thread have said, their experience typically leaves a lot to be desired in the gameplay department imho, both with Uncharted and Last of Us. Probably why I consider the first Uncharted to be the best one, there was more exploring, less emphasis on set pieces and cinematics. Also why I loved the TR reboot.

Main reason why I didn't buy U4 and probably won't until I find it dirt cheap somewhere. I got the same feeling last gen with Gears of War, too. I played 3 for mere minutes before being bored out of my mind and never touched it again. Sometimes a developers flavor just becomes stale. I'd hoped ND had found some ways to inject meaningful new elements but from what I have read, they have not.

Which is why I wouldn't mind if the franchise carried on under someone elses care. That's a great way to inject new life. Some people hate that idea, but it's worked fine in the past.

For the most part, the environments are not open. I'm about half way into the game now and only one of eleven chapters thus far has been a large open level (its a vehicle level). But even with that said, there wasn't much incentive to go off the path. When you come into group of enemies I didn't bother with stealth kills much because you don't have stealth weapons and trying to strangle them without alearting others is a slog.

The game is a beauty and there a few cool new game mechanics, but its not a far cry from previous games.

9 chapters in & I thoroughly disagree about the gameplay. TPS, combat, stealth, are the best in the series. Gunplay is far from average, platforming is a joy as usual. Nothing wrong with linearity either. The story is gripping, pacing is perfect.
