Based on my extrapolation based on steamspy data and capcom data. Atleast more than a million SFV copies were from PS4. So why did SFV flop on PC?  Is it competition, negative word of mouth or the PS4 is just a beast and that games will still sell despite being a critical flop or it being niche?

Your extrapolation? :--P

Capcom says 1.4M shipped + digitally sold, Steamspy has it at ~150k, so we know the other 1.25M are on the PS4.

Wow.  Some game series do so much better on console.  It's why many devs still prefer them. Sales do the talking and the walking.

PC is more for MMOs and porn these days.

VGChartz♥♥♥♥♥FOREVER

Xbone... the new "N" word   Apparently I troll MS now | Evidence | Evidence

The game itself is a flop, and Capcom has only themselves to blame :P.

The fighting game of the generation is Killer Instinct. Which will also be on PC and also be free-to-play. That is Street Fighters competition.

Also keep in mind that PC games have longer legs... There are PS2/Xbox/Gamecube era games (And earlier!) on Steam which will still hit the top of the sales charts once they are on sale.. On console they have fallen into obscurity never to gain another single sold copy again.

Plus fighting games aren't the PC's forte'. Whilst perfectly playable for gamers with a controller, it's garbage on a keyboard in my opinion.

Would love for there to be some digital tracking on vgchartz. Would make comparing PC and Console fair or for Valve to come to the party and release stats.

I Think that this is unfair, for Digital we would only have Steam's numbers and if a game is Multiplataform PS4/Xone/PC we would never know the fully digital data.

Allow me to rephrase that... It would be good for Digital tracking done for all platforms.

We already know that the majority of PC's sales is digital and not retail... Where as consoles the majority is retail, but with digital eroding that.

Its not arrogance but fact.

There are far more casual gamers (and by casual I mean gamers that buy games but do not visit forums/review sites) that buy a console that is ready to go than a custom/pre-built PC for gaming unless you are saying that there are more PC gamers than there console gamers.

I'm pretty damn sure there are far more people who buy games on consoles just by the brand name rather than looking up reviews.

When you buy a game from the store or online - more than likely there wont be any mention of reviews or scores unlike on Steam where it actually shows you the rating on the same screen as the purchase button.

Isn't a fact and is 100% Arrogance, PC have more Casual than Consoles Only on League of Legends already is 150-200 Millions of Casual Players, and Phones have more Casual than PC, 60US$ isn't cheap and people don't throw away money without seeing something about the game, The Majority see with Youtubers

And you are wrong, people on Console does not are loyal to a Brand, because of that After PS2, the Wii sold more than PS3, and the Xbox 360 was a competition, people go for where the games are.

And again, both markets have the Same awareness about the games they are purchasing, if PC Market is much "Smarter" or "Aware" than the other markets, so why Batman Arkhan Knight even after so much bad reviews sold 550-600 Thousands on PC ?, while The Witcher 3 sold 1.4 Millions (on Steam, it sold more on other sites but i don't have the numbers)

Well here is the thing, when you go to the store, you do not see this magical thing right there saying Mixed Reviewers, well on steam you do (where this is getting bought). It isn't about just being informed, it is being informed when impulse buying. Console gamers (Myself included) will buy something more likely in store front, because impulse buy is a thing. Well on steam it is more likely will look at alternatives if we see something like mixed reivews or wait for it to go on Sale.

Plus sale staff push games to make sales and profit. You ask them if the newest street fighter game is good, they will tell you yes.

And they would be right, SFV is one of the best fighting game currently.

I'm not getting into that debate, but you know what I mean, you ask them if so and so game is good, and they will generally say yes.

the PC version did release at retail (atleast in some regions, not sure if it did in all of them), so PC total is certainly more than 150k

Pc retail is negligible, and they usually are just steam activation codes.

Well the question is now, is that purchase not related to steam? because that only means that the PC outlier would be people who bought but did not redeem, and those on store shelves. However I imagine that number not being to high.
