I heard they're gonna be only 50% faster than last gen, or specifically, a 1080 will be 50-60% faster than a 980.

That's a huge disappointment that they're only going for the mass market and not offering any 275 Watt/16 million transistors high-end card yet, but we'll just have to wait until next year.

AMD is rumoured to go for the same tactic. Only a 50-60% increase while the tech in fact has the potential for a x2.5 increase.

Wrong.

Leaked benchmarks put it at 15-20% faster than a 980ti.

The overclocked 980ti's its less than 15%.

Basically dont have insane expectation for the 1080.

(this is not a "ti" version, just a 1080. It should be like 40%+ faster than the normal 980 though (non ti)).

*edit:

Appears one 1080 is more powerfull than 2 x 980 in SLI.

I will be watching.

I am gonna tune in for this but most likely, it will be a skip for me (buying the gpu that is)

The event is boring, I'll just check out the rundown once it's finished ...

Think I'll stick with my current build for a couple of years yet, but I'm really excited to see what's looming on the horizon!

I'll watch but considering but I'm not buying until they release the big die chips eg titan/1080ti im not holding my breath. Can't wait to get either tri crossfire or sli setup on the next gen gpus with hbm 2. Meanwhile my tri fury x setup is running nicely in all games

I mostly play RTS and Moba style games now adays as well as ALOT of benchmarking. I do play other games however such as the witcher 3 and Crysis 3, and recently Ashes of the Singularity. I love gaming on the cutting edge and refuse to accept any compromises. Proud member of the Glorious PC Gaming Master Race. Long Live SHIO!!!!

They are so late that they forgot to tell people the 1070 only has 7.5gb of Vram
