Ehh...didn't really like Mad Max.

Bet with Adamblaziken:

I bet that on launch the Nintendo Switch will have no built in in-game voice chat. He bets that it will. The winner gets six months of avatar control over the other user.

SonytendoAmiibo said:I'm playing the Mad Max game on the PS4 right now and I am really enjoying it. I never really cared for the Grand Theft Auto games. Basically this is the same idea as far as open world gameplay. Am I enjoying Mad Max because it's a red neck white man's version?

I have the same thoughts with Red Dead Redemption and GTA. I can look at people playing GTA but I do not find it very entertaining to play for myself. Somehow it is too restricted and predictable. RDR, on the other hand, is one of my top ten games, and what I have seen of Mad Max makes me want to try it.

I am definitely not a redneck though (from my understanding of the word)!

It is nothing like GTA... and it's pretty enjoyable. Especially after watching the movie. Aslong as you go in expecting something like more of the same from that universe, that is exactly what the game gives.

I'm just gonna ignore the red neck comment because it's a bit wtf. Will just give my thoughts on the game:

I thought it was alright - got it in the Humble monthly for PC - but fucking hell does it get repetitive. I guess they were pressed for time and just copy/pasted the mission structure or something.

The lack of variety in missions you need to complete from one area to the next really killed my desire to keep playing. I spent a few hours on the first real area (not the starting area) completing everything before I moved onto the next one, only to discover that you have to do the exact same stuff again(!)... and not just once, but like four fucking times(!!). Kept with it for a few hours after that but in the end just got fed up doing the same stuff over and over.

Oh, and it's way too easy early on.

Yes, some of the side missions do have recurring goals but each of these areas have completely new layouts and I enjoy exploring these areas for the hidden collectibles. But there is a lot more to the game, like taking out the convoys, death races, upgrading strongholds, taking the dog and buggy out to clear minefields. The list goes on. Lots to do.

The red neck white man thing is just a more shocking way to say the demographic the game is aimed at.

Off topic: See how I added a quick and easy way for haters to hate in the poll? They just click a button and move on to the next thread without posting. It seems to be working.

Hey! They got SONY on my amiibo! Wait a minute. Two great gaming tastes that game great together!

All repeated again and again in each area though. That's the problem.

Then Mad Max the game boils down to whether or not you like the missions enough to keep redoing them. I'm not bored with them, but some people will be.

How repetitive a game is to someone is subjective. I'm finding enough space in between the mission sections, but I'm taking my sweet time and just messing around and having fun. If your trying to speed through the game (no pun intended) you will keep doing the same things over and over.
