Um...maybe you should try some of those games you mentioned because they are games anybody can play and it doesn't matter how old you are because they are fun. I'm 19 and happily playing the new Ratchet and Clank game :)

I have tried many of them on PS2. What is interesting that on PC you won't find game series like that and that speaks something of console and PC audiences.

Are you kidding me? Cartoonish games exist everywhere. Where did minecraft first start? Ever heard of hearthstone? Overwatch is coming out with a cartoonish aesthetic. team fortress 2 had a cartoonish aesthetic. League of legends and world of Warcraft also have a cartoonish aesthetic.

if you don't like cartoonish games, fine (I'll disagree of course). But don't start a console vs pc war with false claims

i wonder if it occurs to you that your posting on a video game website as a grown man would seem incredibly immature to many people..

I see that some posters have a hard time distinguishing 'kiddy' and 'rated E'. Let me help you with examples:

Kirby = kiddy

SSX = NOT kiddy

I just downloaded Senran Kagura: Bon Appetit! on the PlayStation Vita.  It this kiddy enough for you?

Hey hey you bought it, good man supporting a franchise who are not afraid to bring insane JP experiences to the west, there is just 2 days left on the sale though, if you enjoy the fun humour of Bon Appetite you should really consider picking up Shinovi Versus before the sale ends.... Trust me, there is plenty more Banana split action to be had in it :)

Why not check me out on youtube and help me on the way to 2k subs over at www.youtube.com/stormcloudlive

I know that gameplay over visuals but for me all these Ratchet and Cland and Jak and Daxter and Nintendo games are cringe worthy. It's like if you had a decent car in some childish car body, it's still a childish car no matter how fast it can go and what functionalities it has.

I really hate this type of mindset. Just because something is colorful doesn't exactly mean that it's childlish and for kids. Kingdom Hearts  for example has more complex story than most serious WRPGs and Ratchet and other platformers are more challenging that CoD or Ass Creed will ever be.  Also I find it quite ironic how all those people who prefer serious games talk like people who play platformers and JRPGs and immature and manchildren but they are always the first ones to start insulting others and make threads like this. Talk about maturity.

And yet here you are posting on a Video Game website.

I find it strange that you are unaware of the PC games that are like that.  They exist, believe it or not.  Many of them exist.

Alright, name me one kiddy 3D platformer PC centric game series.

Platforming with a mouse and keyboard? Nice one mate

Yeah, I wouldn't say Mario Kart is a "kids game" yes it's colorful, wacky and child friendly but it's a game that can be enjoyed by all and I wouldn't say that it is "childish". Just because a game is colorful, funny, light hearted and just fun doesn't make it a "kids" game. Teletubbies Activity Center is a kids game because it's a game that only appeals to children... there's nothing their that would be fun to an adult.

Does the same reasoning works for series too?

Because I want to show Archer to my 3 years old niece, it's a nice cartoon so it should be for kids, but I'm not sure if she would understand the jokes...

This is almost as bad as those people that go :
"Oh you like that weird jrpg sh*t,... you must be a weeabo."

Also see The Secret Of monkey Island series. Not platforming but they definately have a Cartoony artstyle but are very much aimed at older people.
