With a budget of $20mil it should have broken even the first week considering the fact that 3d animated movies does well and no stellar new titles the weekend.

The rule of thumb in the movie is make at least twice the budget to break even. There are other heavy hits coming this may which is going to be difficult to rake the desired revenue. Hope, Rainmaker studios don't lay off staff who have put in their best.

Hmm but Assets and Clips from the movie were used in the game as well so some of that budget went towards the game as well.

So far only 5.5 million. I doubt it'll even surpass 25 million LT, so definently a bomb compared to its budget.



Made a bet with LipeJJ and HylianYoshi that the XB1 will reach 30 million before Wii U reaches 15 million. Loser has to get avatar picked by winner for 6 months (or if I lose, either 6 months avatar control for both Lipe and Hylian, or my patrick avatar comes back forever).

But the budget of the movie, game, and marketing is pretty massive.

Well I hope this whole reboot is profitable in the long run because the game is great.

Somebody the other day said it had done a couple hundred dollars in france, so now I am second guessing the figures when it says international was only 45k.

Wikipedia had it at $5.5mil and before it came to the US theaters it had made close to $700,000 outside America.
