"Temporary" price cut? XD 26 33.77%

Now you get a 50$ giftcard, oh and a new marketing slogan as well (I won't spoil it ).Should just leave the price at 300$, as this won't be nearly as effective.

Made a bet with LipeJJ and HylianYoshi that the XB1 will reach 30 million before Wii U reaches 15 million. Loser has to get avatar picked by winner for 6 months (or if I lose, either 6 months avatar control for both Lipe and Hylian, or my patrick avatar comes back forever).

I saw that slogan on a commercial and I actively got mad. Like I don't care about game marketing usually, but that is as misleading as you can get with a claim.

Speaking of which, I'm the Lindbergh baby. Prove me wrong.

You should check out my YouTube channel, The Golden Bolt!  I review all types of video games, both classic and modern, and I also give short flyover reviews of the free games each month on PlayStation Plus to tell you if they're worth downloading.  After all, the games may be free, but your time is valuable!

Id just leave it at 299$.

I don't know how MS can keep pushing that slogan without feeling any shame.

The PS5 Exists.

They'll probably drop it to $300 permanently within 7 days.

If you google their new slogan you can see that they "tweeted" it out a week ago.

Then it said "of 2015". Why did they remove "of 2015"?

Also here is a list (according to NPD) for the 10 best selling games of 2015.

Call of Duty: Black Ops III (Xbox One, PS4, 360, PS3, PC)
Madden NFL 16 (PS4, Xbox One, 360, PS3)
Fallout 4 (PS4, Xbox One, PC)
Star Wars: Battlefront (Xbox One, PS4, PC)
Grand Theft Auto V (PS4, Xbox One) 360, PS3, PC)
NBA 2K16 (PS4, Xbox One, 360, PS3)
Minecraft (360, Xbox One, PS3, PS4)
FIFA 16 (PS4, Xbox One, 360, PS3)
Mortal Kombat X (PS4, Xbox One)
Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare (Xbox One, PS4, 360, PS3, PC)

And? This has become one of those old discussions.  COD AW is not a game from 2015 and on place 11 is Halo 5 making it the console with all the  top ten selling games on its system. Their statement wasn't wrong that was never a issue.

Wait, what ?

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_best-selling_video_games

So Tetris, Wii Sports, Super Mario Bros, Mario Kart Wii are releasing on Xbox One? Megaton!

Serioulsy, I can't understand what they're even trying to say with such a bad and wrong slogan...

So, something I've kind of noticed with this factoid is that it seems to get increasingly vague with each new iteration. The original statement, if I recall correctly, was for the December NPD, and it went as follows;

'Xbox One is the best place for gamers and the only console that has all top 10 best-selling titles of this generation that launched in 2015.'

Very precise- carefully so- as it's already been mentioned that this only really holds true if you exclude games that didn't launch in 2015. But that's what made this statement such a good one, it was precise, clear-cut, and left nothing to the imagination; the parameters were laid out for people to follow, and there was no excuse for misunderstanding it. Eventually, though, it was swapped out for what seems to be the more commonly used;

"...the only system with every top ten best selling game of 2015.."

So, same overall message as the first statement, but with some of the precise wording rendered a bit less so. Still, it can still certainly be interpreted as the original statement with little difficulty, and anyone who read the original statement would simply carry over the prior meaning to this one. People who saw this message for the first time would likely be unaware of the exclusion of 2014-launched games, though, as the parameters were not specified quite so clearly. But at least if one was made aware, they could look at the statement and say; 'Oh! Yeah, I see how it can be interpreted that way.'

Now to the image shown in the Gamespot article; http://static2.gamespot.com/uploads/scale_super/1179/11799911/3056474-deal.jpg

"The only system with every top ten best-selling console game."

Sooooo this either indicates that the Xbox One now somehow is the only console with all top 10 best-selling games this generation, ooooor we've drifted into what I like to call 'Bad Spin.' The former seems highly unlikely. If we've established that Halo 5 was unable to make the top 10 of 2015 list when games that launched in 2014 were counted, then there's no way it can make the top 10 overall list for this generation, because it only launched at the end of 2015. =P

So, yeah. o.o Bad spin it is! What I'm curious about is whether this is something from Microsoft's own marketing branch, or if we're looking at some overeager third-party marketing firm stepping out of line. This seems a tad too clumsy for Microsoft to try, in my opinion, their wording has generally been extremely careful.

Zanten, Doer Of The Things

Unless He Forgets In Which Case Zanten, Forgetter Of The Things

Or He Procrascinates, In Which Case Zanten, Doer Of The Things Later

Or It Involves Moving Furniture, in Which Case Zanten, F*** You.

Just keep the price at $300 with the gift card included. That slogan isn't fooling any gamer.
