Forums - Movies & TV - Captain America: Civil War – BIG RANT and many plot spoilers inside (you should save your time and money and not see it now)

Didn't read spoilers, but read enough and already have enough some woudl say Bias to this movie.
Here is why I can't see myself enjoying the movie.

1. I just can't see these heroes being willing to actually kill one another. As one trailer had Black Widow and Hawkeye say. Are we still friends after this? Depends on how hard you hit me. Or whatever the quote was. These characters have been together through too much and none of them should be going full on evil that shoudl warrent they ever be fighting to the death. Thus it just feels like a pointless fight.

2. The stupid ass airport fight. I'm sorry but having like 6 super heroes standing off facing each other is just too stupid. And then all running at each other to attack at once. Again full on stupid. If you were seriuosly fighting someone you woudl have peopel hiding, traps, surprises, you know hawkeye sniping. Ant man small, ect. But no, we get some stupid shot of them running towards one another.

3. Then as you said the obvious one. Kind of related to above ones. TALK. There just seems way to much fighting. They all know each other (minus a few newcomers) would it be so hard to sit down and freaking talk to one another and explain what is happening.

Watching BvS. I fully believed Batman wanted to kill Superman. I never for one second thought Superman would kill Batman, but Batman was in it for blood. Civil War. Except for a newcomers reasons, I don't believe for one second any one of them would kill one another. So the movie loses huge suspension from me for that. Not that I ever thought for a second Batman woudl actually kill Superman in the movie, but his motive was to kill. I can't see anyone in civil war having that actual motive.

I'm not surprised on the reviews though. I'm sure that action scenes are fun. The movie will have plenty of one liners that are funny as all marvel movies do. The visual are BRIGHT and reviewers seem to like that. It's basically Avenger 3 and again reviewers seem to love those movies. Plus its by the directors of Winter Soldier, which was a great movie. Best Marvel movie. Oh and its by Disney. Disney is soooo big that you have to be blind not to realize that some reviews are motivated by money. Not saying Disney is sending them money directly, but as big as disney is, they is lots of indirect money involved.  ANd hype. Same as video games like Halo, CoD, Uncharted, GTA, ect getting amazing reviews all the time. Some are stinkers, but they still pull 9 & 10's.

1. The final fight

2. Airport scene IS THE BEST ACTION SCENE. I don't want to spoil you, but you are so wrong about lol

3. King of agree.

4. Is better than BvcS

5. Disney DID NOT PAY ME to say that. Thanks

You can divide that questions between "real movies", meaning Cinema Flicks in which the maker knows how to use that big screen language properly, and the fun ones.

For the first category, both Tim Burton's versions of Batman were awesome. You can add the second Spider-Man to that list (I found the first one very good too, but the visuals have aged rather badly).

For the second, you can place things like Guardians, The First Avengers and the original Ironman, plus many others.

Haven't seen most of those, but yes, at least the first two Spiderman movies weren't too shabby. We are talking about the movies with Kirsten Dunst here, right? Didn't like Tim Burton's Batman.

Kickass, Guardians of the Galaxy, Deadpool, Hellboy, Dredd and Scott Pilgrim.

Only saw Kickass out of those. Except for its cool action scenes, it's more or less garbage.

Yup, those ones! Even the third one had very nice moments, but those were ruined by bad plot and too many things to happen in a single film. They should have divided it in two movies.

But you should really give those first Batmen another try  :P

God, I wanted to trust you, but like me you are too extreme to be trusted. You did not like the last two Batman movies?
What about BvsS?

I still see where you are going though. I will probably see it since there is nothing better out now. This seems like it is going to be a lame year for movies.

Hey Ryan (my very first friend in here back in the day :O ).

I'm a lawyer and a defender of civil rights. All of them.

Cannot approve something like "The Dark Knight" where not only ALL privacy is taken away from citizens but also, in that district scene (a place where the Law should rule, not torture), Joker's head is taken by Batman and crushed against the table IN FRONT OF ALL THE AUTHORITIES. And EVERY FUCKING BODY was cool with it and thought it funny and deserved. No, there can be no unjustified violence from the side of the law. NONE AT ALL. That movie reminds me too much of George W. Bush's doctrine for my stomach to handle, so, no, I didn't like it at all and didn't bother to see the third one.

!!!SPOILER AHEAD!!!

The whole airport fight could've been avoided if Team Ironman just destroyed the jet Captain America and Bucky were trying to get to... just sayin'

LOL yup, you are totally right!

I can't really reply to the whole thing cause I didn't read the spoiler part... but in the last movie, Shield tried to have Captain America captured and probably killed... and he was a WWII hero and not a cold war spy. I can definitely see a legit reason that he wouldn't want anyone else taking Bucky in.

Well, it was a Hydra infiltrated agent trying to do that and he kinda knew it. Just saying, no disrespect.

1. No idea wha tyou mean by saying final fight. My point was I don't care what happens in this movie. THere is nothing it could do to make me believe that Captain America or Iron Man would ever try to kill one another. THe only way something like that would happen is if one of them started going around killing babies or dropping nukes on people. Both of which would be ruining said character, out of character, not gonna happen, ect.  So no matter how cool a fight is or anything, its all just a scrimage.

2. Cool action scenes do not make a good movie.

3.

4. Wasn't comparing quality. Haven't seen this movie, so can't. Was just pointing out that in BvS, at least one half was out for blood. Unlike CIvil War, which is just bascially some family members having a spat.

5. Are youa  reviewer? but money was not my only point. IT takes all of a minute to look up Disney movies recently or narrow it to just Disney/Marvel movies. They are the highest reated movies consistently. There are zero stinkers in scores. Now can you seriously say with a staright face that there have been zero stinkers?   And again HYPE. Heck look at Dark Knight Rises. It got hugely great reviews, and that movie sucks. Even if you did enjoy it, its still filled with so many bad moments/plot holes/ect that it doesn't deserve the score.  But it was living off the hype of the earlier movies and Hollywood LOVING CHRISTOPHER NOLAN.  Say what you will about BvS, you can't deny that reviewers HATE Zack Snyder. BvS was doomed 20 points on RT just by him being director.

I agree, the movie was frustrating to watch.

The actions scenes just went on and on and I didn't care.

They nerfed all the strong characters and the combat was stupid.

Captain America wasn't the only dumb one, Tony last movie was like we will protect everyone and be in complete control, and this movie he went the opposite way hard, neither of them were reasonable.

The only time I was having fun was when Spider-Man and Antman were on screen doing stuff, as at least they are fun/funny.

BVS got destroyed and Civil war got good reviews, yet despite the massive plot problems in the first, overall I enjoyed it more.

I know, right? I am a huge Spider-Man fan but I honestly thought Antman had a better cameo. But Spidey was indeed fun, more so when he is beating the crap out of Bucky and Falcon.

You know... if you try to actively not enjoy something, you can always manage to.

I think you are taking what is a "super-hero" movie a bit too seriously. It's not meant to be realistic. It's supposed to be entertaining.
I was more annoyed with all the exposition in the first half. But, it was an alright movie. No more insulting than superman vs batman and the force awakens.

Hey, Nem! I agree with you. Super-hero movies are supposed to be fun. Some manage to be great movies altogether (Spider-Man 2). This time I went into the movies very, VERY psyched over Civil War, especially the possibility of seeing Spidey along with the others, and came out insulted.

they are overpowering cap . he shouldnt be able to beat ironman

1. I'm a little drunked, so sorry for my bad english right now

2. You said that you don't believe they are trying to killing each other, but... spoiler, but there is no other way to say: At first, we have Natasha and Tony trying to stop Cap, but then everything leads to final fight scene, and they really wanted to kill each other.

3. I know cool fights scenes does not make a good movie, but you need watch the WHOLE airport scene there is even GIANT ANT MAN, how this can't be cool?

4. People really don't like Zack, but I say again: Civil War is better than BvsS. And this coming from someone that really enjoy SuckerPunch, so my problem is not Snyder
