I didn't know VGC was resorting to clickbait headlines for the NX now.

Can we just stick to a single speculation thread at this point? It's getting ridiculous, no offense to OP here.

It's fine. No offense taken.

This is my second thread I started here on VGC and yes I have lowered myself down into the quagmire of NX rumor filth.

But at the same time this NX streaming box theory kind of makes sense.

Hey! They got SONY on my amiibo! Wait a minute. Two great gaming tastes that game great together!

I'm talking to a wall.

I really hope not... I really dont want my gaming quality be based around the quality of my internet... Specially since we have data caps in Canada and internet is over priced

It would if the market had the infrastructure for a streaming box. I can't speak to the Internet fidelity of Japan, but the US and especially Europe have a poor infrastructure for Internet access, let alone streaming. IIRC almost no households have the recommended minimum for PS Now, and that's for last gen games! Not to mention the issues with streaming multiplayer games - lag would be outstanding even in a perfect streaming world.

You should check out my YouTube channel, The Golden Bolt!  I review all types of video games, both classic and modern, and I also give short flyover reviews of the free games each month on PlayStation Plus to tell you if they're worth downloading.  After all, the games may be free, but your time is valuable!

Unlikely..

No I'm not a wall. I understand what you are saying. Netflix is a steaming service that works on multiple devices you already own. No extra hardware is required by the consumer.

A streaming game service requires a controller to use that service and a box with some security features to prevent unauthorized access to the games online.

As far as current internet infrastructure, maybe Nintendo has solved that problem with some kind of new compression technology. Maybe games will be partially downloaded while you play so your not at the mercy of your connection?

So the NX would be a hybrid streaming box with a hard drive. Half streaming box and half console.

No it doesn't. A streaming service does not require a box for security. What you're saying literally doesn't make any sense. The only issue with game streaming right now is latency and price.

Also, My Nintendo literally deconfirms any streaming service. My Nintendo is specifically made to award static purchases and specifically for the NX platform, something streaming is made to do away with. There's nothing even remotely hinting towards the NX streaming anything but your own imagination.

Nintendo's older games are very small data sizes and will be purchased and downloaded to the hybrid streaming box's hard drive. So yes you will own games to some degree.

This thing is going to reinvent how a steaming game service works.

Imagine streaming a game online but your hard drive has the next ten minutes of the game preloaded on the hard drive in advance of where you currently are in the game. If your internet connection is fluctuating it will not matter because the game is buffered on the hard drive.

Aren't theories fun. Because this is all just rumors and speculation at this point.

Not that that couldn't happen, but it will be, primarly, a gaming console.

Why do you bother?

This is a case of Youtube speculation vs. Nintendo confirmed that NX will be dedicated gaming hardware.

Yes this video comes up with really over the top speculation that is quite controversial.

The only real fact we know is that Nintendo is making something completely new that has never been seen before. A completely new concept.

I have speculated in this thread playing devils advocate supporting the video's theories. But what do I really think about this?

Until next year, NOBODY KNOWS what the NX is except the people working on it right now.

The first thread I posted on VGC was a dud. Add NX rumors and look at the views this thread has gotten.

Need I say anymore.
