Current consoles can do 1080 60 already. Developers just want to squeeze out that last pixel out of their game, framerate be damned.

If it was a Ninja Gaiden game, I could consider 60fps, as the really fast pacing of the games is very well done, but Nioh isn't Ninja Gaiden slashing madness, at all.

Says the dude who a few days ago was saying Nioh is "faster than Bloodborne".

Considering this game requires split second dodges and parries, etc. I'll take 60fps.

It'll be 4K

For years I've been saying games should offer a resolution option like this. But people kept telling me that's too much work, makes it like a PC, blah blah blah...

The final game should run better, clearly not well optimized yet. I mean the PS4 should be able to easily handle those graphics at 720p/60 fps.

That's something that bugs me too.  It's nice when stuff like Bioshock (360), Titanfall, etc. at least give the option for an uncapped framerate.

Right, I opted for uncapped frame rate in those games because the control is more responsive with a higher frame rate.

Given the option I would always choose 720p for 60 fps.

Coo

I'd take a rock solid 60fps over 1080p. But if it fluctuates alot a stable 30fps would be better.
