Forums - General Discussion - When will we have too many humans?

how many humans is considered too many?

5 billion 22 37.29%

6 billion 4 6.78%

7 billion 1 1.69%

8 billion 0 0%

9 billion 3 5.08%

10 billion 11 18.64%

11+ billion 18 30.51%

Total:59

We're currently at 7.5ish billion, which is a lot of people.

I realize we won't be able to continue this type of growth in the future, which leads me to asking- when will we have too many humans?

12/22/2016- Made a bet with Ganoncrotch that the first 6 months of 2017 will be worse than 2016. A poll will be made to determine the winner. Loser has to take a picture of them imitating their profile picture.

from 15 to 20 Bilion I can see there beeing some problems...

Depends on climate change, water supply - i bet 10 bln.

The real problem is not the number of ppl, but their economic aspirations - if everybody on this planet could live average American,European level of live, we need probaby 4-5x world resources we have now ..

but hey, our nuclear weapons storage can destroy this planet like 10 times. I mean to completely clean on earth surface.

By when, do you mean "how many are too many", or "when will we be too many"?

Those are two very different questions.

I believe scientists estimate us capping off on earth at 10-12 billion

30 Billion. Not even kidding lol. However I think our population will level off at or before 20 billion.

Prediction for console Lifetime sales:

Wii:100-120 million, PS3:80-110 million, 360:70-100 million

[Prediction Made 11/5/2009]

3DS: 65m, PSV: 22m, Wii U: 18-22m, PS4: 80-120m, X1: 35-55m

I gauruntee the PS5 comes out after only 5-6 years after the launch of the PS4.

[Prediction Made 6/18/2014]

Better education = slower population growth. China is already slowing down with what they've achieved over the years. The only problem now is India.

Africa also has a birthrate that isn't sustainable as well. But for the most part, the world has finally gotten use to the fact that breeding like rats isn't a good solution. I doubt we'll reach 10 billion within our lifetimes at the rate we're going, which is certainly for the best.

Made a bet with LipeJJ and HylianYoshi that the XB1 will reach 30 million before Wii U reaches 15 million. Loser has to get avatar picked by winner for 6 months (or if I lose, either 6 months avatar control for both Lipe and Hylian, or my patrick avatar comes back forever).

"When will we have too many humans?"

Theres already too many of us.
Our planet cant sustain it and smart egg heads are saying if we cant find out how to live in space or teraform another planet within the next 100years, then eventually we ll just kill ourselves.

But I dont think it ll become a problem until theres like 15bn of us.

The earth certainly can sustain a population of 7.7 billion, we just need to go about it the right way.
