I think it has been said that Nintendo never officially said March for Zelda, only NX. Look further down the thread and a user cites that it was most likely a miscommunication error. That being said, if NX launches without Zelda...that'd be a sad sight.

The simultaneous release was for both the versions of the game, not the console and the game.

Might still get a traditional holiday release after all!

Technically they only said "2017", I think the NOA person who wrote up the profile may have just put March there out of haste.

I wouldn't be surprised if the NX version comes out first too ... they did the same with Twilight Princess and it worked out well for them, they'll probably do it again:

You never know with them. Yup, they lied or "changed their mind" about a simultenously launch for TP on GameCube, GameCube version was supposed to launch day and date with the Wii launch:

That would be a nice way for Nintendo to say FU Wii U owners. It would be the first Nintendo console without an exclusive Zelda. The Gamecube had the Windwaker as full exclusive at least.

It's just as logical to think that the Wii U version will come earlier.

Realistically, it'll probably be a simultaneous release. That's a lot more common, nowadays, than it was 10 years ago. But they never officially confirmed a release month for either version, so what was likely the internal information about release was accidentally used on the website.

People who refer to the Twilight Princess case forget that Twilight Princess had only been delayed from late 2005 to 2006. Zelda U was originally listed as 2015, and was delayed multiple times. They're not going to want to piss people off by delaying the Wii U version further, after specifically focusing on the Wii U version at E3 (they've specifically said they're showing the Wii U version at E3, that NX wasn't going to be shown at E3).
