Not really. Those projectors are common technology and probably already part of the concert hall. And animating like 3 moves onto an already existing 3D model isn't really bank breaking either.

Now hiring an actual talented composer and musician to create the music, THAT would've been expensive.

Nintendo does it again. When they really try, their stuff ends up soaring high. I will admit I wouldn't go see this. I really don't like Splatoon all that much but you have to give props to Nintendo because people are actually living and breathing Splatoon right now.
