Because what would others complain about then if they stopped victimising themselves?

This might just be the most racist comment I have read all-day. People don't actively choose their characteristics, you know, and they all have very different paths toward success. Some people with the right privileges practically get a free ride, while others are forced to work hard to defy the institutionalized racism and discrimination pertaining our western society. Yet you would lump them all together?
Absolutely disgusting.

This, so much this.
I have met some wonderful, and some not so wonderful people from all races, ethnicities and both sides of legality.Labeling a whole race or ethnicity never brings anything positive.

That's not lumping them together... it's the opersite. You don't have to ignore the fact that an indervidual had a hard struggle in life whatever the reason; shared or otherwise.

Unfortunately race and culture do go in hand in hand to a degree. Which is why sterotypes exist but don't always apply. Bear in mind, I'm just talking about the US in my OP. |
Wasn't really arguing against the bolded, race and culture are still not the same thing. I do somewhat agree with your statement though. To a degree race and culture do go together but I would say that the degree is small and not always the case and when talking about the US it's increasingly becoming almost negligible especially when talking about 3rd+ generation Americans which comprises the majority of the US population. Regarding stereotypes, in essence that's what I was saying, stereotypes don't always apply and that's why they are so hindering.
Yeah I know you were just talking about the US, so was I.

I don't believe he was being racist. From what I got out of it was that we shouldn't focus on race and treat and judge each other by that but rather by them as individuals, like if they're a good person or not.

It happens sadly, people give into notions of stereotypes because to them the world is simply black and white. It is funny the easiest counter to this stereotype is simply going those are the qualities any american could learn, namely the intillegent and well behaved part. (See how fun stereotypes are)

Think of the common ideas that come along with Asians: -Smart -Successful -Well behaved
Perhaps what other minorities and Muslims should do is follow the lead of Asians. Instead of complaining, why not step up and make a change?

Your ignorance is beyond belief. I hope this thread is a joke or you just exposed yourself as a racist individual with one of the weakest arguments ever. Shame on you.
