I was going to say Project Cars but the remembered it was cancelled for Wii U x~x

Well, they have to do something for all the backers that wanted the WiiU version. They already looked shady by cancelling the WiiU version, they better bring it to the NX as apology.

You know it deserves the GOTY.

I'm not really a fan of sim racers. They're just so boring.

Arcade racers though? Yes please.

F-Zero, Wave Race, Ridge Racer, bring it on.

Give us a new Burnout in the vein of Paradise please. I don't care if it's NX exclusive, just make it!

Oh wait, sim-racer? Yawn....

I emphasize sim-racer only for the purpose of emphasizing realism. Ideally, it should be something that should straddle the line between an arcade and simulation.

Oh in that case absolutely, first years are great times for racing games on a console as they showcase the visuals well when people want to show off their new toy, then the better titles also can go on to become franchises.

It's a shame the arcade racer has had such a decline. It's still my favourite genre.

It needs a lot of luck to be a success.

Hunting Season is done...

I'd be down for that. Never been big into sim racers but I can't say no to a new ip

This, to me, is indicative of Nintendo's problems in the west.  That would have been a perfect chance for them to reach out, contact those guys, and say, "what can we do to get this game on our system?"  They're somewhat proactive in Japan, why can't they do that elsewhere?  I don't know if it's a failing of philosphy, structure, or personnel, but there are so many opportunities out there and many of them would only require minimal investments.

Sim Racer - NO!
Arcade racer - YES!
Something like Split/Second, Burnout, Blur, MotorStorm, Pure, FlatOut or Trackmania

I think arcade racers would be more appropriate, I doubt simcades like GT and Forza (apparently, that's what people who are into sims like iRacing call them) would make a big splash on NX.

I think they definitely need one, with the main reason being that unlike other genres the biggest games in racing are all first party. If Nintendo was smart, they would buy up exclusive rights to Project Cars, sign the former Top Gear guys to give some cred and style, and kick off their own new first party franchise with NX. But that would be easy and smart, and Nintendo don't like that.

It could broaden the diversity but I'm fine with Mario Kart :p

I'd love it. But at the same time,

Split/Second - Dev shuttered
Burnout - Dev practically shuttered
Blur - Dev shuttered
Motorstorm - Dev shuttered, though Codemasters may save the day!
Pure - Dev shuttered (see Split/Second)
FlatOut - Yay hope, but they are relying on early access to make their game possible
Trackmania - Holy crap, one of these great racing game devs is still business as normal!!!
