Forums - Gaming Discussion - Chinese Room calls CDPR games sexist

Whoever posted the tweet definitely never watched the Cyberpunk trailer, and I'd venture to say that he/she never played the Witcher games either.

Witcher 1 was not the greatest for some of the characters (Not All) (They had sex card collection in the game), but 2 and 3 are much better in how developed the characters are. However this is a non-issue, lets file this under who gives a fuck.

True, but in this case it seems that it is not taken out of context. Jessica is known for her failry harsh femminist stance (allas, what femminism should imply IMO is different, but you get my point).

I don't think you understand.  What is this tweet in response to?

Ah, right. I forgot about the sex cards. I didn't bother going out of my way for them because I found them all incredibly creepy. I also remember Geralt having sex with some princess to get access to some letter or something. You can't judge the whole series on the first game, though.

But yes, most of us have no reason to care about what the Chinese Room says.

What is the chinese room and why should I care about their opinion? The witcher 3 is not sexist. People like to look at attractive people. There's a lot of prostitutes in the game but frankly, there's a lot of them in the real world.

People won't be content until every female character is a powerful CEO, dresses like an eskimo, and looks like Homer Simpson.

A very small but vocal group of people won't be content until every female character is a powerful CEO, dresses like an eskimo and looks like Homer Simpson.

Some of the more powerful and prominent characters in the witcher games are female... I have to ask, who fed the trolls after midnight!??

Embarassing really

Go to their twitter and look, THAT is the context.  If you go to their twitter account, you can see 8hr's ago came that tweet, 24hrs before that they were commenting on the growth rate of female composers (from 6.2% to 10%) in a sarcastic fashion (This includes their tweets, and replies).  So...that's pretty much the context.

Very dissapointing and immarture of you to be frank, but its expected for most (not just you) to adopt group thought.  They have the right to free speech.  This topic should contain the context.  I assume someone called them sexist for making the comments about composers and they replied with that tweet.  If not, its your fault for not including the back story.  Either way good for them for standing up for themselves.  I only belive that everyone has a voice and should be able to speak.  We need to protect the right for both bigots and for SJW to speak their mind.

Excuse me?  You asked about the context, I showed you how to view the context exactly as it appears on twitter under their "Tweets and Replies" tab.  Ergo, any tweet they sent, and any REPLY they sent to anything would be shown.  Is this in any way unclear?

Nobody is denying them Free Speech are they?  Did anyone stop them from saying something?  Anyone?  At all?  This is not censorship or a free speech issue, this is responding to something stated on a social media platform (pretty sure responding is what we call speech, as well).   I'm unsure why the insults were necessary (could stand to spell it correctly, though), they weren't.  Especially, when you're clearly confused about concepts like Free Speech, which is afforded to both the person submitting the opinion, and those who dissent from that opinion.
