Same here, I think that Diddy Kong Racing 2 can be developed by Monster Games with little help of Retro, Retro is big enuf to have own project and give a help some other team in same time.

No we dont, we dont they spending their talent on 2D platformer, use that talent to make some big 3D game not another 2D platformer, Nintendo platforms have enuf 2D platformers but they lack of huge 3D games. Saying that I would love 3D Donkey Kong game.

I doubt Nintendo would allow them to make a big budget original IP. They are too risk averse, especially if the NX is XB1-PS4 tier in power, it would be a very expensive project to make to bank on a completely uproven character IP from a Western developer. We'll see though.

If they are being handed off a franchise, Kid Icarus might be cool.

It would great to see Retro work on a new IP! They seem to have a good enough job with the Metroid and DK franchises
