according to Emily Rogers retro studios next game won't be either Metroid or Donkey Kong and instead it might be a new IP and will release in 2017

I trully hope thats true.It would be truly epic if retro is really making something new.Imagine a sci-fi game in veins of Mass Effect, or even an adventure game?

I hope it's something cool. I want to see Retro go all out. No chains. We know they're capable of truly incredible things. We've seen Metroid Prime. They're already the closest thing Nintendo has to their own Naughty Dog.
